Liked: Cleanliness
The hotel is actually clean, smells nice, very friendly and welcoming staff. But the room is extremely tiny, small, you need to move sideways as there is no space to move at all. No vanity kit, hair conditioner, body cream, so take it with you. But i would not recommend the area at all. Very dirty, dangerous, dodgy. You dobt feel safe even to go outside even though its only 10 min drive to the center.
This was a small, quaint, and very nice hotel. Getting there from Gare Nord was a bit of a walk which is fine, but the neighbourhood is very busy and noisy so be prepared for that. Once inside the hotel it was clean, comfortable, and quiet. Only downside was that rooms do not offer small fridges, but staff will give you ice buckets if requested. Staff was very friendly at all hours and speak english for smooth transactions and conversations. Would absolutely stay again!
Aside from the immediate surrounding property, within 5 minutes of walking, you reach beautiful historical areas with lots of people, dining, and music. The hotel is in a very nice location. The hotel is nicely done on the inside and the air conditioning is wonderful. I wouldn’t have changed anything about the stay.
Good location near transit and train station. A bit sketchy neighbourhood but had no issues.

Doesn’t feel four star
Small room, with cheap fixtures, and they did not offer an ironing board with the iron. The location is well connected by transport links but not particularly pleasant to walk around. The staff were friendly and attentive. Too expensive for the quality offered - it did not feel like a four star hotel.
Room was a bit underwhelming, not as big as projected in photos but it wasnt bad for what we paid for it, we only needed it to sleep. But the staff was very friendly,
Amazing stay, staff so friendly.
We were upgraded to a superior room from a classic which was so good and so unexpected. will defo come back 10 out of 10
This is an excellent hotell with a friendly and serviceminded staff. Great breakfast. Close to a metro station. Just a fee blocks away there’s a nice area with restaurants, artisan bakerys, cool shops and cafés.
Extra plus for the small but efficient gym.
We loved this hotel and will for sure be back.
Breakfast buffet had wide variety of options. Hotel was clean and quiet. Staff was polite. Only thing I would change is having a hotel shuttle from the airport earlier in the day or on demand.
The property was excellent for subway convenience. Looked very good overall. Bed was not very comfortable and there was a moldy musty smell coming from the bathroom.
Our room was small but well organized and very clean. The personnel were friendly and attentive.
Unfortunately the neighborhood contains some rough spots, especially at the nearest metro entrance. This limited evening activities. One of our party had a neck chain snatched right in front of the hotel entry. While the chain was recovered, the experience marred a fine stay.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
The staff at this hotel is very kind and helpful. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. The room was also absolutely tiny, if you are traveling with more than a backpack you will have no place to open the suitcase without occupying the whole floor. The balcony door cannot open without hitting the bed. So…tiny is the key here. There is no minibar or room safe.
Now, when you go outside…the area is colorful and dynamic. It was pointed out to us that we were in a bad neighborhood by a cabbie, being from Chicago sometimes you don’t wanna judge right off the bat. But, yes, it’s not entirely a safe-feeling neighborhood.
We usually like to stay in the 18th but didn’t realize that a few blocks would make such a strange difference - noted!

Clean and functional. Coffee was included in breakfast only and would have liked to have a cup of coffee without spending 15 Euros. Otherwise pleasant stay.

Disliked: Property conditions & facilities
Albeit staff members were really friendly and overall the hotel was of good standard, my room with terrace was extremely small, there was no kettle, coffee, tea and the lighting in the room was very poor, clearly to save energy but made me really depressed.
Updated property with walk in shower. Modern. Comfortable bed. Room was dark with limited lighting. Linens nice. Big bath towels. Neighborhood not great. Breakfast was very lovely. Nice elevator
We slept comfortably, room size is just great for me and my husband, spacious. I did not expect too much but when we got to the hotel, staff were already nice and helpful. Front desk Answered all of oue questions!! They keep our room clean, bathroom was really clean and spacious and comfortable. Wifi was great, bed was so comfy honestly we felt like sleeping in and just staying in the hotel room because it was so comfy in there but of course we were in Paris so we didn't want to waste it!! But overall hotel is great!!!
I had a wonderful stay at Maison Barbes. It took me a lot of time to find a hotel and after going through all of the reviews, I decided to choose this one. I’m so glad I did!
The staff was so kind and so helpful. Being American, I felt very welcomed. Shout out to Dina. Her hospitality really made all the difference for my stay.
The rooms were very clean. Daily room cleaning service was provided and I had everything I needed. The hotel room was small but it was just me and I was barely in it. It was perfect for this trip. If you’re used to a big city (I lived in NYC), then you will find the area very safe. I walked around at night and never had an issue.
There were also a ton of people around at all times. Never once did I feel unsafe. I will say if you’re not used to a city, this may feel unsafe to you but in my opinion it was not. I loved how close it was the Montmartre. I walked there and had the most beautiful day! I didn’t find the noise to be an issue. In any city, you’re going to hear noise but it didn’t disrupt my sleep. Infact, I’ve never slept so well in a hotel especially when traveling different time zones.
Can’t recommend this hotel enough!
We had an overnight stay in this hotel and we were happy with the choice. The hotel team were very helpful and provided us with a cot for our little one.
Very comfortable bed and clean room plus nice lounge & bar area in reception.
Staff were all very welcoming, helpful and friendly.
The breakfast was very good with a large selection of yogurts, cereals, delicious pastries, eggs, bacon & breads etc.
