I used the live agent feature on Expedia last night during my stay trying to get a refund because the room was terrible and nothing like Expedia advertised it to be. There is an open case now that im waiting on to hear if I will be getting a refund or not. I supported my concerns with pictures to the live agent and when the agent tried to reach out to the hotel, of course, nobody answered the phone at the hotel lobby due to the lovby being closed already at 9pm.
When arriving to our room, it reminded my wife and I of a jail cell. The walls were terrible looking with multiple patch marks that were done very poorly, our heater didnt work, there was mold in a corner of the room near the door entrance, there was some kind of stain splattered across the mirror in the bathroom, and the bed to the room did not seem anything close to the Queen room that I selected. I also selected an ovean view room and due to the room being at the same level as the parking area, when you looked out the window you saw nothing but a row of cars and not the ocean. This place was terrible and I would never in my life recommend it to anyone. If you look at my booking history all of my purchases are pretty good/decent hotels so based off the pictures presented by Expedia, I figured this room would be just as good and especially based on the 4.3 stars that it was rated and it was nothing close to that. My wife and I slept on top of the covers fully clothed. All of this was also reported to the live agent.
