The breakfast was ok. Had a waffle maker which worked, yogurt and some bread to toast. Older property but well maintained. Lovely family owned Root beer restaurant a short drive from the property,l well worth the visit.
Room was clean. Smelled like cigarettes horribly. Coming from a former smoker. Great location. I've stayed here a few times. This time the smell was the only downside

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service, amenities
It's a good location for people wanting to hike at Starved Rock.
The property was clean and the staff were helpful. The window lock on the ground floor room did not work well. The toilet was small and full, and the bathroom was rather cramped. Breakfast was adequate and the air-conditioning heating worked well.. all in all good value.
Quiet. You can open the window which has a screen. Shower was good. Didn't like the bare floor because I prefer a carpet. Liked the windiw looking out into the parking lot where you can see your car. Convenient location to gas stations and Starved Rock.
This hotel is a short drive from both state parks in the area, with many restaurants nearby as well. Friendly and helpful staff. The rooms were very clean and the beds were comfy. Definitely would stay here again!
I was afraid we had made a mistake when the side door key readers was broken and the door propped open, but inside was well taken care of. Newer clean carpets, paint, the bed was clean and comfortable, nice towels, quiet away from busy highways.
The hotel was quiet. A nice area to stop for the night that was safe. Everything was comfortable. Breakfast was simple with most cold food items. Waffles were hot. Would stay here again if traveling through.

You get what you pay for the property itself was clean. Pull area was nice and clean water warm to me as a plus the room had a musky smell other than the smell. Everything was clean staff not too good. I don’t think the person to ask new English and at 7 o’clock in the morning, one of the employees walked into our room on House. We were still just getting up from bed, but that was the damper on the whole thing, the guy walking into our room.
Everything was great. Especially for the price. Comfort, cleanliness, and care is all we needed for our one night stay. Our expectations where met. Later check out time and a later pool access hours was a nice Bonus!!
