"The hotel room at Cherry Valley Hotel was just okay. The room floor had stains on it, which is to be expected from a hotel room. The beds were comfortable to sleep on. There was no remote to the tv to be found at all. At one point, I had text the front desk asking for a remote and some extra blankets and pillows and I'm not sure if it was because I wasn't in the room, and they came when I was gone, but nothing was left by the door. When we were checking in, we were early, and I am aware rooms aren't always available when you're early, but it was worth a shot. The front desk receptionist wasn't the friendliest. Maybe she was having a bad day. Also, we had a ground floor room, and the locks heading outside on the inside of the door were broken and ripped out of the wall. On the back patio, there was trash and cigarette butts all over it. The view wasn't good, as it was facing the parking lot and the greenery was overgrown, so I didn't send my kids out there (plus the trash). Maybe this hotel doesn't charge as much as normal, but since there was a dance comp there that weekend, I feel like the money I paid was not worth the stay."

"Be prepared to wake up on a bare mattress - as the room we stayed in did not have fitted mattress sheets / just a sheet laid on top of the mattress. The hotel charged our credit card for the room even though it was prepaid through hotels.com- so we were charged twice. I called the hotel asking for a receipt to sort this out, but they have yet to send it to me and did not offer me a receipt at check in or check out. The included breakfast was a joke and despite 24/7 advertised room service the options included only a “pretzel” or some bags of chips on a shelf you could buy. Their claim to fame is a beer fridge in the bathroom, but that is not enough to overlook the poor communication, failure to provide a receipt and waking up with your face on a bare mattress."

"Booked the room when our flight in Dayton was cancelled and we had to go to Columbus by Uber to leave early the next morning. When we got to the hotel they said they had overbooked the hotel but had made arrangements with another hotel down the street. After starting our day in Dayton at 10am and now being told at 11pm that there was no room it couldn’t have been worse….until we found out they moved us to a hotel with a 6.8 rating and said they had made the reservation and paid for the room. I had already paid Expedia for a room at this hotel. When we got to the other hotel they said no one from Fairfield had called and they would require us to pay. After half an hour on the phone with the hotels they agreed to give us a room at midnight! While on the phone with the Fairfield front desk we heard them ask someone that came in if they were checking in?????? I said you told us there was absolutely no rooms available. Such awful treatment. Beyond ridiculous."
