We stayed in a Classic Room at Hotel Santa Cecilia, and it was exactly as pictured—warm, inviting, and tastefully decorated with local artwork. The linens were clean, and the overall atmosphere was cozy and comfortable.
The staff were exceptionally helpful, always arranging taxis promptly when needed. As vegetarians, we especially appreciated the chef’s effort in preparing delicious vegetarian versions of local dishes, including Tlayuda.
The hotel is conveniently located about a 15–20 minute walk from the city center (Centro), making it easy to explore the area while still enjoying a quiet stay.
I highly recommend this place.
The room was clean and it is easy to reach the center by walking. The personal is really welcoming and helping out any kind of issues one can have
I really enjoyed my stay
The staff and property were lovely. The front desk staff were very accommodating and thoughtful. They were also forgiving of my very elementary Spanish and kindly practiced it with me. I would stay there again on my next visit to Oaxaca!
Very nice boutique hotel out of the way of the action but close enough to walk in and absorb the vibes of the zuccalo & downtown. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. We will stay there again next time we’re in Oaxaca
A cute modern hotel with a modern design. The staff were all helpful and friendly. Beautiful terrace restaurant. The location away from downtown is a plus. I would give it five stars except for the dogs barking around the hotel day and night and the roosters next door that begin crowing around 4:30 am.
The staff were friendly and very helpful and informative about Oaxaca and took the time to fond out my interests and made
recommendations for me. Beyond hospitality!
This hotel is run by great / friendly staff and is super clean and convenient to downtown Oaxaca. They message me before arrival to see if I needed anything and I was greeted warmly. Arranged a 3.30am taxi so I could get to airport on time and the security at the hotel is excellent. Definitely in my to top 5 hotels of all time.
Lovely stay. The personnel is very polite and attentive. The accommodation is new and nicely decorated. Its a nice amd safe neighbourhood , half an hour walkiing distance from the city center. I would recommend this place!
The staff and property is amazing, the only negative problem is the sound, I could hear everything from my room especially the washer spinning, the staff cleaning. Overall I would stay there again, just make sure I cover my ears

A very clean well kept hotel. The entire staff was very kind and helpful.
The only problem I recommend to be done to our room is to fix the drainage in the shower drain system. The water stays in the area and it doesn’t drain properly.
Other than we highly recommended the hotel.
Family of 5 adults. Very clean. Nice aesthetic. Love the quiet neighborhood. Good cafes and restaurants nearby and the walk into the center of town every day is one of the best parts of the experience. Helpful staff. Rooftop deck simple and nice, good place for quick coffee/pastry/eggs. There are issues with hot/cold water and sewage smells that the hotel is struggling with. Recommend with the knowledge that this is part of traveling in Mexico.
Location is great; close to an excellent panaderia. The regular rooms are rather small and therefore lacking in furniture but this is expected for a colonial style building. There is a restaurant on the top floor which is useful in a pinch for breakfast. We took advantage of a Monte Alban etc. tour which was very good (4 out of 5). There was someone there to man the front door at all times, so security was excellent. There was also some pan dulce for some mornings in the lobby. This location is quieter than Centro but the morning and evening rush hours are very busy in the street. Excellent place to start your walking tour of the city!
I really do like this hotel!
The staff was always very polite & helpful.
Rooms have a nice layout.
Xochimilco, the neighborhood, it a great choice! A short walk to Reforma & a decent walk to Centro. Close, but out of the potential crowds.
Bakeries and cafes nearby help in the early mornings as you start your day.
That said, I must share that if you are a light sleeper, have ear plugs. The doors/windows are thin. There's an opening to bathrooms walls high up to outside, so..
You will hear everything. Cleaning crews, guests arriving/departing, conversations, etc. I slept with my ear buds most of the mornings I'd sleep past 6-7am.
I don't want to fault the hotel for this, just a heads up. Beyond that, good spot.
