"Very convenient location, with free parking. Friendly and helpful staff. Beautiful historic building. Swimming pool and jacuzzi very welcome after a day's exploring the city. The heritage nature of the building means the rooms are a bit small with limited natural light. And the soundproofing between rooms is weak. We could hear our neighbour coughing all night and chairs being moved around upstairs."

"Despite the signage and letterheads, this is not a 5-star hotel in our opinion. There are no doormen or bellboys, such staff would be very helpful navigating the 15 or so steep steps from the street to the lobby. There is no complimentary water in the room. The shower is in the bath. Used glasses were not cleaned or replaced. The room is of good size and the beds are comfortable. Location is good."

"The pool was brilliant and the hotel cool, relaxed and spacious in a very hot day. The staff were very attentive and it all felt very calm. The restaurant food was good and the service excellent. One thing that could be improved is the pool bar selection and out of kitchen hours menu - the hotel is a bit far which means no alternatives if you’re used to earlier dinners coming from UK."
