The room was clean the bed was comfortable but the shower area needed major repair. The flush button on the toilet was broken,the soap dispenser was broken and the shower doors didn't meet. The door into the room was difficult to unlock. The Hotel needed updating generally.

Thank you I enjoyed my stay very much. It would’ve been nice to have mugs in the bedroom to make a lovely mug full of tea and also a couple of biscuits would be nice,but thank you for keeping it nice and warm. It was lovely and quiet. I didn’t have the breakfast with you so can’t comment on that. Sherry met me and booked me in when I arrived charming lady. Thank you

Polite person on check in and apart from leaving the following morning them were the highlights of this hotel. I will remember the Unicorn for all the wrong reasons, imagine a room that hasnt been touched for the last 20 years plus but for the 30 minutes quick clean after every stay. Absolutely no evidence of a deep clean clean in this place. We got to the room, an absolute disgrace. Dusty - Dirty glasses on coffee tray - Dirty coffee cups - Dirty chrome plated light switch next to bed (disnt touch it) - Dirty black, aged grout in bathroom floor tiles - dirty bathroom tiles around the edges - Light bulbs different colour whites and some not illuminating and 1 in the bathroom flickering - Dirty head board (wall) please see the pictures, absolutley unbelivable... 30 minutes till our restaraunt reservation, bedding was clean so we grinned are bared it.... never ever again would I stay at this place ever ever again.. thos review is going to be sent to Mastons complsints department.. Please see pictures On check out, I was ready to voice my dissapointment on the room but then realised why there is a key box at the car park exit door, im sure they dont want to hear the complaints... Never ever again!!

Overnight stay for niece's 21st party

Excellent value for money, cheerful friendly staff (Paula in particular worth a mention), room comfortable, clean and tidy with good facilities and towels. A little worn and shabby in the public areas.

Really comfortable beds and clean room. good location overlooking the Trent and lovely riverside walks. Didnt have a room at the front so our view was of the air conditioning unit, so not to good. rooms at the front would have great views. Good indiand restaurant nearby. For what we paid I was well satisfied and would stay again

Lovely stay with a couple of minor drawbacks

Had to run the hot tap for ages to get any sort of hot water and gave up once it reached tepid (hence the low eco score) Not enough sockets for phone chargers etc. Otherwise very comfortable stay.

After mentioning an issue with the room first allocated to us upon check-in, we were directed to another room, it was excellent… very spacious, view of the river, very clean and lovely bathroom. We had an excellent night sleep in a huge king size bed, it was lovely and quiet especially after closing time. Looking back at what time we checked in, we could’ve timed it better because it was in the middle of food service in the restaurant and it was very busy, so there was a bit of a wait to check in as staff were extra busy. At breakfast the food options on the continental was excellent and a plentiful supply and came included with the cooked breakfast.
