Can’t really beat the convenience of the location—at the very heart of Akureyri: shops and stores all around the hotel, even their iconic church is just a few steps away from outside! In general, the rooms are clean and stylish and we’ve had a pleasant experience staying here. However, the only downside would be the loud sounds of the cars passing by the roads"

"The breakfast at Hotel Akureyri was fantastic! Waffles, eggs, fresh bread and rolls and fresh fruit among other delicious goodies! The hotel was in walking distance to many activities in the area and the staff was super helpful in finding a place for dinner. The rooms were very nice. The only negative side to this hotel was a lack of laundry service. When I booked this hotel in July 2025 for an April 2026 visit, the booking site said Hotel Akureyri had laundry services. They did not. But the rest of my visit there was amazing "
"Rooms are clean and have a view. Breakfast is good but very busy, tables filled up fast even at 7am. There were lots of skiers and families around with small children. "
