In letzter Zeit war es bei uns sehr ruhig, was für die Jahreszeit normal ist, sodass es keinen Grund gab, das Ihnen angebotene Zimmer zu ändern. Dear Bernd,I am so sorry that your stay with us was such a disaster. let met first address the problem with your gaining entry to the property at 22.00. Normally this wouldn't be a problem, but unfortunately, my wife who normally handles the late arrivals is away, and I was a bit distracted as our son was unwell (he has a number of permanent health issues). We sincerely apologise that you had to wait around to gain access. The building you stayed in is older, and does need some renovation. We are aware of this, however, during the dry season when it is busy, gaining access for a major renovation is difficult. During the rainy season, we are planning to give the building a major upgrade.I am so very sorry that your stay was less than satisfactory, and will be taking onboard all your comments and discussing them with my staff.Kindest Regards,Julian

Being right in the centre of Nong Khai town we are so close to the Saturday night market, which is so much fun, and we are within easy walking distance to all the main attractions of this lovely city. Dear Mark, Thank you for your very detailed review! Regarding the restaurant, we will be reopening it either at the end of July or certainly by the beginning of October. Depending on how guest numbers improve. We are sorry it has been closed so long, but during the Covid period we were unable to pay the staff salary and we have to be very careful not to loose yet more money on it. The lizards are a fact of life we try our best with, and as we are now in the rainy season, we have begun our usual program to keep the mosquitos under control. We do hope that you liked Nong Khai, with its Saturday Walking Street Festival, the huge green serpents in front of Wat Duan, our intriguing Taa Sadej market which is a bit like a Souk and of course our wonderful Sculpture Park.

In a matter of days our new kitchen will be open, and so our food will then become something even more wonderful. Did you walk along the river front in the evening withSpectacular sunsets in purple and pink!

I am so glad that you loved it here. I wonder if you had time to visit the amazing Nong Khai Sculpture Park with the Naga (Serpent) reaching over 80 metres high? And did you visit the Taa Sadej Market, possibly one of the best provincial street markets in Thailand with a weird and wonderful range of goods from telescopes to penis shaped back-scratchers? Our different types of room are clearly stated on Expedia. Yes, we do have some cheaper rooms, much loved by younger people because of their inexpensive price. As clearly stated they have shared bathrooms. That you describe them as horrible is unfair. We know that they offer value for money and are well loved, as they are pretty much always full. However, there is a wide choice of rooms here, so if simple and cheap is not what you are looking for, then there is no need to select them. Oh dear, we obviously did something wrong here. However, unfortunately, you have not told us what upset you, so it is difficult to know how to improve. I have shown my staff your review and all we can say is that we will try harder to make sure we are doing the best we can. Generally, we are getting excellent reviews, so unless this happens again, we will treat this as an isolated case.
