"The 3-minute walk was uphill from Gora station, thankfully along a paced path by the cable-car tracks. If I didn’t have google maps, it might have been bit hard to find the place. Gora is beautiful, had pizza at nearby pub, excellent. The Gira Base B had its own terrace ( tight, narrow steps) but was cool. The room had large beds, all 4 of us slept in our own beds. "Beautiful property tucked away in Hakone. They have a shuttle system that picks you up at Odawara station that you can reserve in advance that is free (~45min ride). The service from the staff was excellent and the onsen and spa was beautiful. I wish they had a gym to move your body as you can’t step outside and do a run or walk easily without taking their shuttle to a nearby station to go check out some of the attractions in the area. My only complaint is that there were several families staying at the hotel while we were there and the children were running around constantly making noise. Either the hotel implements a policy on managing children or disallows them entirely. It was wild to see how much kids were getting away with. Not the hotel’s fault but it did impact the stay. Additionally, I did have to call the front desk to complain about a loud upstairs guest who constantly was making noise above our suite. It sounded like a little kid jumping up and down and running around. After the complaint, the noise was slightly better, but they continued intermittently. For a resort and spa and for the price we were paying, I’d expect quiet and not to be disturbed by other guests and unruly children. Otherwise, great property and amazing service by staff."
