"Staff were friendly, helpful. The air conditioning didn’t seem to be working, so we just off it. Two good things about this hotel is the location. It’s situated very near the train station and has a large supermarket within walking distance.
The nearest laundromat was about 5 mins walk from the hotel (which wasn’t ideal when it was rainy season)
The bed wasn’t too comfortable and the pillow was way too soft. It was hard to bathe in the toilet as well since the water pressure was not that great and we had to adjust both the hot and cold tap to get the optimal pressure every time we bathe. "
"Nice new building & modern rooms, friendly staff, convenient and free parking. Walkable from the train station but is uphill and not very close (probably not a good idea with bags). The property offers free transfers from the station, but only hourly and just a few times a day - I would not consider this a negative though given the hotel is affordable and taxi rides are cheap. "
"The apartment was very clean. All the amenities worked as expected. The large flat screen TV was very nice. The Onsen and hot stone bath were great. "
"The staff was very friendly and helpful. The location was close and an easy walk to the shrines. The room's private bath was wonderful. The upstairs shared bath had hotter water and views of the river.
The breakfast and dinners were delicious"
"The hotel itself is very clean, updated, comfortable. The room we had was on the traditional side and was spacious with a separate bedroom with balcony with river view.
Buffet dinner was delicious. Hot tubs is clean and amenities including shower head were great. Recommend to stay just one night. Because the “Kinugawa” itself is a small town and surrounded by abandoned buildings, not much to do.
The check in staff didn’t let me know you needed reservation for the return taxi. I planned to grab a taxi to the train station at the check out but then, the staff told me without taxi reservation or shuttle reservation, waiting time for a taxi is around one hour. We ended up walked to the train station but missed the train and spent 5 hours waiting for the next train.
I think the hotel staff should have let me know the reservation when I checked in as they knew we took a taxi to get to the hotel at check in.
Lack of taxi service is understandable due to the size of town, so make sure to ask about the taxi or shuttle for your return!!!
The check in staff was impersonal. The hotel seems to cater to a large group of people so if you are looking for more of traditional type of Japanese hotel service, look other hotels. But over all great hotel experience. "
"Everything went smoothly. Only one annoying check-in process, asking for date of birth, where you come from, and where you would be heading to, as a must information for check in. "
"Room little dated but extremely spacious, and very clean. Only comment is lack of USB port. Buffet was adequate but missing the ‘wow’ factor. Property was little far from train station, I think it would be much convenient if the shuttle will bring guess back to hotel instead of just one way to the train station."
"The room was absolutely beautiful, the private bath was so lovely in the cold night air. The staff were all so friendly and attentive, it really felt like they had thought of everything! We would definitely stay here again
The only downside is that when arriving, the driveway/road up to the hotel is completely gravel so it was very hard to get our suitcase to the hotel. We ended up getting a taxi back to the train station at the end of our stay and that was much easier. Strongly recommend not walking to the hotel from the train station if you have a big suitcase like we did"
