My wife and I planned to stay here for 3 nights but checked out early after we came back on the second night to find our door open from where someone entered our room while we were gone. This property does not offer turnover service until after guests check out, so it could not have been housekeeping. When we brought it up to the desk agent, she suggested the wind blew it open, as if we wouldn't have made sure it was closed when we left for the day. When we checked out the next morning because we didn't feel safe leaving our things in the room again, the same agent was dismissive about it and refused to refund the third night. I'm not saying it was the agent, but I am saying she was the only person we saw working there, and she knew we took a cab into town for the day. If you decide to stay here, make sure to take anything valuable out of the room with you.

This motel is pretty good for the price. There were a few places that had some dirt, but it didn't bother us too much. The room was nice and the shower was pretty high-end! The front desk woman was absolutely excellent! She came to assist us in a matter of seconds, even late at night. She was so sweet and helpful. I would not recommend staying here if you don't have a car. Newport doesn't have much public transportation and our Uber app couldn't find any drivers in the area. To get food, we had to walk next to a busy and loud highway. Overall, I would recommend this hotel for its cheap price and quality.

The room was mostly clean but the bathtub had hair from a previous tenant and some residue from a shampoo bottle - it didn’t look like it had been thoroughly cleaned. The sheet on the bed also had a bright pink stain on it. The biggest problem was the lack of carpet on the floors and the noise created by that. Having been on the first floor with someone directly above me one night, it was very disruptive. I could hear their tv playing all night; whenever they dropped something (which happened periodically through the night and woke me every time!) or dragged the chair or walked around in their shoes, there was nothing to absorb the noise and it was loud. I got very little sleep my second night there due to this. I did call to complain the following morning and requested a room switch, the staff were nice about it, but niceness can’t muffle the sounds between rooms. I would imagine this issue has been complained of before and I was a bit baffled why, in a mostly vacant motel, they would put someone directly above me. Due to the noise during the night, I missed some events I was there for the next morning as I was too tired and needed a nap after the person above me checked out. Because of this I would not stay here again. Really really need to put some carpet down, at least on the second floor.

The motel parking lot had a large camper with a broken out window and people inside parked just below our room. It made us feel a bit unsafe when coming and going to The man at the office counter refused to check us in at the time listed on our reservation. He said that Expedia had the check in time wrong and we would have to wait "at least another hour" He mentioned that the people at Expedia refuse to update the check in time The room itself was nice and clean. The beds were comfortable and the TV was big. We would stay here again because of the nice clean room and the price.
