Door not locking, bed on wheels and moved during the night, TV only had couple of channels, sealant in shower just hanging off, when having shower water would come up in other drain in bathroom and court yard not clean.

Location was good. The rooms are in need of maintenance. Sliding bathroom door did not slide! Off it’s hinges and wouldn’t close. Front door handle and lock needs tightening.

Simple with no thrills

It was quick stop over. The room was clean but extremely small. Expected the room to be large for amount spent, however it was clean and comfortable. The staff were really friendly upon check in. The dinner was great with lots to choose from.

Up North Hospitality.

Small room and no housekeeping service. Noisy in the morning with housekeeping staff speaking loudly and reverse signal from work vehicles. Good value for money and friendly staff.

Like a jail or army barracks

Bed moved all over the floor and was hard. Taps ran and eventually could not turned off and flooded floor. One glass only in room which was less than basic. Was not particularly clean respectably bsthroom and everything ver old and dated. Door lock was impossible to open only managed after much difficulty every time. Very unhappy.

Good and bad.

We werent expecting a great hotel but it was not as good as we hoped. The accommodation needs a thorough clean and upgrade. Disappointing when it was freezing cold to be told we had to sit outdoors for a drink until the bistro opened. Luckily after one drink we found the sports bar next door. Bistro meal at night was fabulous.

I stayed in a 1 bed room which was small but fine for the one night, The room was clean and comfortable. The desk had no chair which was inconvenient but I was able to use one from the verandah area. The restaurant was very good for this part of the world. Not great value but nothing is cheap in the Pilbara.

Regional Surprise

With Newman being a regional town, and me being from the city, you expect differences in 'quality' or 'service'. It's all about perspective and expectations. The Newman Hotel did not disappoint and in fact surprised me. Great clean, suitably equipped rooms with beautiful marble bathrooms - better than my own home! Staff were very customer service focused. This will be my go-to Hotel for any future trips to Newman.

Upgrade your stay

Stayed in the upgraded room that was much better than the previous Dongas accommodation. Restaurant service and the meal was excellent

Pretty average but fine for the town it's in.

Good food, Nice restaurant and bar, service was very mixed, either really good or really bad depending on who you got. Bedrooms are a bit of a shock, the rooms are basically shipping containers stacked on top of each other and called Block A, B, C etc feels a bit like a prison camp, The bedroom wall had 7 rusty screws pointing out of the wall pretty lazy looking attempt at maintenance or repair by the look of it.

Newman Hotel stay

This place is a donga style accommodation with a mess hall meals (extra cost). It was quite a good value for the price we paid. The hotel is within walking distance of the Newman's shopping centre, including IGA, Woolworths, Dome, Subway, etc. The Visitor Centre is nearby as well. The room had all necessities, e.g. aircon, TV, toiletries, coffee/tea facilities, fridge. WiFi wasn't working well though, maybe because our room was far from the reception. There was a complimentary laundry within the block. The only negative experience we had was some confusion upon check-out. As we had to check-out early on the day, we just made sure the reception had our card details and left the key in the drop box in the morning. The reception charged us for an extra night though, when our details were processed. However, it was resolved quite quickly, and we got refunded.
