Hotel staff is super nice and helpful. Hotel was clean. Only issue was our room seemed very unlevel (due to the age of the building and ground, not the hotels fault by any means). We had a balcony room which we enjoyed sitting on after a long day of sightseeing when the weather permitted. They did offer a room enhancement that I took advantage of for our anniversary which was a nice touch. The charge was more than expected but they corrected that with no issue. The neighbor seemed safe enough for walking with my husband but wouldn’t feel too easy walking on my own especially after dark if there wasn’t many others out walking. Location was very close to places that we wanted to visit. No need for a car if you are able to walk. Car would be difficult to drive around and find parking in most locations. All in all it was a pleasant stay and we had a great time in New Orleans French Market. The pool area is very nice. Pool is small but will serve the purpose of a quick dip. We just weren’t ever in the room long enough to use it.

I love the Richelieu. I’ve stayed here many times. Becky at the front desk was fantastic! Room was very spacious. The location was fantastic. Close to Frenchman and at the quiet side of the quarter. The temperature dropped outside and the room was freezing cold even with the AC off. The bottoms of my feet became black from walking barefoot in the room.

The beds and comfy pillows were lovely. Room had a small fridge - and we had a balcony from 3rd floor which was nice. I also loved how easy it was to control our temperature (we went in January so sometimes cooler and sometimes warmer). Newer heating system and ceiling fan was great. Dresser oddly didn't work so 'unpacking' was different. Staff was very friendly and helpful. It is one block from a fabulous coffee/brunch/beverage spot (en vie) which was great too. Location was nice - at end of French Market and close to Frenchman neighborhood for a cool music vibe that felt so authentic!

Our stay at Hotel Richelieu was absolutely wonderful. The location is unbeatable—right in the heart of the French Quarter, yet still calm and charming. We were able to walk everywhere while enjoying a peaceful retreat at the end of the day. The hotel itself is full of character and history, exactly what you hope for in New Orleans. Our room was clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully maintained. The courtyard and pool were a true highlight—such a relaxing oasis after a day of exploring. The staff was friendly, welcoming, and genuinely helpful, making us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. This hotel captures the soul of New Orleans: elegant, laid-back, and full of charm. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for an authentic French Quarter experience.

The room was clean. My room didn’t have much of a view they did offer me a room with view but I was ok with what we had. Staff was friendly… walls are a bit hollow so You can hear every footstep and loud guest but overall good experience.

Very Courteous front desk staff. I checked in and wasn’t feeling well, also I had lost my voice and my throat was extremely soar, I couldn’t barely speak. I had a plumbing issue with my room and he had the issue IMMEDIATELY RESOLVED. Brian Thornton was quite exceptional.

This is an awesome property. Clean, well maintained, vintage, and very hospitable staff. Walkable to the FQ (3 min) & 10 min to Burbon St action. I’d stay again but in a room with a personal balcony. We had a shared balcony didn’t care for that bc we couldn’t have the blinds up or balcony open bc other guests could walk by or peek in. Hopefully when we return, they’ll have their bar open and some food options on site.
