"We stayed here over a bank holiday weekend for Spa break. We were disappointed with immediately after arrival on the day, were shown the leisure/spa facilities of the hotel, which we thought was the spa in the pics, we were not advised otherwise. Spoiler alert, the actual spa isn’t in the same premises, the one on the premises is pretty much like a local leisure centre with tired facilities. We only found the next day that we had to leave the premises to go to the actual spa after my husband took his laptop to the reception showed pics of the spa from here said, it doesn’t look like this here, that’s when they decided to say oh you wanted to go here, that’s over there (pointing at another building across the street) to cut a long story short we wasted our first day wondering where the hell is the spa. The only redeeming element was the bar downstairs specifically Joshua & Paul, they really made us feel very welcome and looked after us throughout the evening. Also the next we finally went to the spa across the street and it was absolutely fantastic, the spa team even gave us a little present to say sorry for the confusion."

"We only had a one night stay while we took in a show in Ely. The staff were really happy and helpful. A small boutique establishment but steeped in history. Although there was maintenance work going on it didn't detract from a lovely experience, the whole building was still immaculately clean. Room was beautiful, I believe that all the rooms are individually styled and ours certainly had a little wow factor. It's also a great location to explore the beautiful city and all it has to offer. The food and beverages were top draw too. All in all a fabulous little pub/restaurant/hotel. The building is hundreds of years old but the facilities are 2026. The Royal Standard is a little gem and we'll happily stay there in the future."

"We booked the Nyton because we wanted to be near the centre of Ely but not near the main streets. The hotel is only 5 minutes walk from the centre and in a quiet road. There is a large garden bordered by trees and very pleasant to sit out in. Our room was well equipped, beds were comfortable, and the refreshment tray was well supplied. The room was cleaned daily and the beverages etc replenished. The owner was very helpful and the staff likewise. breakfast was in the very pleasant dining room and the cooked offering was both appetising and served hot. The whole breakfast selection was very good. We ate in the restaurant the fist evening and were very pleased with the menu and food. We were glad we booked the hotel."

"My partner got food poisoning from the chicken, when I advised the receptionist all she was concerned was were we going to report it. "
