The rooms are nice, but a lot of them like ours don’t have Wifi which in these days is a Nono!
Breakfast buffet is including and was of good quality and good selection.
Dinner at the Hotel was low quality. Didn’t enjoy any of my 3 evening meals. The grilled chicken was like rubber.
This is a high end hotel very close to Mulu National Park. The rooms are spacious clean and comfortable. Common areas are charming airy and comfortable
The dinner buffet is generous if unexciting but considering the remoteness of Mulu does well to cater to most tastes
What makes this hotel excellent are the staff. Exceptionally helpful polite and charming.
This hotel is nothing less but breathtaking, we enjoyed every moment we spent here. Rooms are beautiful and clean, you have everything here that you might need. Laundry service, buffet style breakfast, lunch, dinner. Georgeous resting area next to the pool with a bar, smoking area. Wifi in the lobby. Returning to the hotel you get al the comfort you need after a tiring hike.
The Marriott at Mulu is a piece of luxury and tranquillity within a jungle environment. You can experience the wildlife and spectacle of the rainforest without having to forego the luxury. The room was clean and spacious with a great shower and nice products. The pool wasn’t huge but enough for a lovely refreshing dip and the spa provided a good selection of treatments. Dining was slightly limited but remember where you are!!
The only negative to the whole stay was the air con in the gym being broken.
Overall- would highly recommend the Mulu Marriott and the Mulu National park is certainly worth the visit.
Family of 5 stayed for 3 nights. The rooms are really comfortable and in good condition. Nice to have the pool at the end of a days trekking. The location is fantastic and feels very luxurious to have all this in such a remote location ant the edge of the jungle.
The one downside is the food. It is expensive (5x local restaurants), many items not available on the menu and the quality not discernibly different from the local restaurants / park HQ.
On balance, I would still recommend this place.

Great atmosphere and happy staff
Pool is small when crowded, but nice placed and service is great, but the drinks have no sugar and the alcohol seem to be wrong in taste, could be improved. Rooms are good and clean but a little old fashioned. There is a lack of drying possibilities, guys it's the rainforrest!!! There are no hangers, lines or anything to dry wet clothes!
The place is pretty worn out in many places, but they keep the common areas well. We loved the buffet, lucky because there are not many eat-out options.
Horrible condition of the room first night room 128 ceiling start to leak when rain, room 129 air conditioning not cold and few lights not working. Days 3 (17/8) the early transport suppose to be 630am as informed by the check in counter during check in . We reach the reception before 630 am, But the lousy attitude front counter service lady, told us 645 am.. but she did not do anything till we go back and feedback to her few times.. she told us not her problem (then is our problem that we have chose such a reputation hotel.) after few round of requests then she takes action..she made few bad remarks on us .. before we left the for the tour. I think is totally not acceptable...lucky we never missed the guided tour ( canopy walk) which start 7am, we reached the park 717am.. the group and guide is waiting for 5 of us. This hotel totally no WiFi.. and not accessible to hand phone telecommunications in the room.. we are like living in jungle... From reception to your room there are no cover. So if rain you need to use your umbrella to walk to your room. if you are just visiting the national park... No need to waste money for a low class hotel.
Wonderful hotel walking distance from the national park. Staff is friendly and helpful. No nearby options for food so you are stuck relying on the resort restaurant. That restaurant was out of quite a few of the listed menu options.
We really enjoyed our stay at Marriott Hotel Mulu and would recommend staying here for a comfotably place to rest and restore after visiting the Mulu National Park and its amazing cave tours and other sites.
While you get everything including hot bath tub, free shuttle bus is a shared service, and if you have specific schedule, you’d better move ahead, not to miss your activities.
We went there for our anniversary and my brother’s family joined us for his wife’s birthday trip. We had booked separate rooms but the wonderful people at Marriott upgraded us and gave us connecting rooms which was very convenient. Thanks JJ and team ♥️ they definitely went above and beyond. We really appreciate it!
Lovely resort by the river with super rooms, good food and wines, great staff.
Only pity was that the swimming pool was closed.
We hope that the pool will be open for our next visit.
We also recommend that the shuttle bus to the National Park should be more frequent - we had a few delayed pick ups including at the airport when we arrived.
