This is for travelers who want to tune out, slow down, and enjoy island life without needing constant entertainment. I stayed in the Sculpture Room—rustic, full of character, and surrounded by beautiful art. There’s no TV, so bring a book, download something beforehand, or embrace doing absolutely nothing.
The staff was wonderful—warm, helpful, and welcoming. There are bikes available, but I’d recommend renting a car. Between Bora Bora’s manual, cash-only, seemingly dynamic taxi pricing, you may end up spending about the same anyway. The drivers, however, were lovely.
I spent much of my time in the patio/dining area enjoying the view and on the rooftop landing with my morning coffee.
The highlight was a personal invitation from owner/artist Garrick Yrondi to visit his home and studio. Seeing his artwork, decor, and enjoying the view from his balcony made the stay truly special.
Yes, there are a few small critters around—it’s the tropics—but if you’re not squeamish, Villa Yrondi is a must-stay.
I’d absolutely return. Next time, just a little more prepared. ;)"
