"We really loved our stay here - not sure why the reviews are so bad. The farmhouse has been renovated and is gorgeous - you have a bedroom with another bed on a mezzanine for the kids. The rooms are clean and have aircon (thank goodness... it was 35 degrees :-)) There's parking right in front of your room and a big pool and pool area to use - if I understand correctly there is a small charge to use the pool but we were out every day until late so it didnt apply. "Incredible sandstone cave bedroom . Spacious and atmospheric. Cool and quiet. Jacuzzi tub. Delicious breakfast with many local products. Excellent coffee. Staff were bright and cheerful. Big shout out to Val who went above and beyond in tying my dates together. The spa is a real treat at the end of a day discovering the many levels of Matera. The staff there too are excellent. Thank you Jenny for the wonderful massage! This place is uniquely positioned on the quiet side of the Sassi. Almost all of the rooms have a balcony or terrace with dramatic views. It’s ancient history and you’re cocooned within it. Unique. "
