「Good amenities but a bit run down and old 」

「Nicely located simple hotel. Very cheap so good value for money. Good simple breakfast. Clean simple room. Overall very quiet. Staff are a mix of friendly and indifferent. Some fixtures like plug points were a little loose. My key card kept malfunctioning which was a minor inconvenience. Only minor downsides were the public area especially the lobby were boiling and the staff used the fire exit near the stairs to smoke outside of and propped the door open so the stairwell stunk of cigarettes.」

「On entry of the Hex Hotel the car park is a short distance from the hotel entrance, there is no drop off point immediately outside the reception area, eg - if it was raining your items would be quite if not not entirely soaked. My advice is to park up first, sign in at the Hotel Reception and then collect a porters trolley for your luggage from the reception area. 「A classic hotel with comfortable, spacious rooms. Friendly and competent receptionists. Nice breakfast. Continent breakfast self-served buffet or hot, customised English breakfast That take quite a while. If come by train, need to get a taxi ride of 8-10 minutes. We arrived late in the evening. Have to queue for half an hour at the taxi stop.」
