Lovely, completely renovated historic hotel

When we arrived in charming Montalcino we were impressed by the grace and beauty of the town. When our GPS told us to stop right in the most picturesque spot, we were thrilled. Our hotel room had a lovely balcony where we sat sipping wine, eating cheese and watching the sun go down. The view looked over the historic fort, the city walls, and off into the Tuscan countryside. The staff couldn't have been friendlier or more accommodating. I would recommend this hotel wholeheartedly.

FANTASTIC hotel!

This is a wonderful small hotel in the center of town. Rooms are immaculately clean, bed was comfortable, room was spacious, and location is great. Simone, the owner, is a superb host. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend this to anyone looking for a hotel in Montalcino.

Super beliggenhed

Værelses udlejning med super beliggenhed lige overfor borgen. Gratis parkering på lokal parkeringsplads lige nedenfor, 2 minutters gang væk. Vinforretning med smagning i stueetagen. Indehaveren laver Brunello - IKKE vin, tag endelig ikke fejl! Der er ikke morgenmad, men det klarer caféer nær ved. Montalcino er en lille hyggelig by med flere lækre restauranter. Bortset fra restauranterne er her stille om aftenen, når turisterne er kørt. Det ideelle udgangspunkt for ture rundt i Brunello land.

Room above a wine store in Monte Alcino. Drink on arrival. What more can we say. Clean, tidy room was just the job on a room only basis on our travels. Handy parking - free with the permission of local arrangement.

Great location in beautiful Montalcino!

We loved staying at Barlanzone. Simone was away on holiday with his family, so he had a lovely woman greet us. Room is very clean and comfy. We overlooked the beautiful valley and the fort. Our only complaint is the parking situation in the town. We had the female parking police follow us throughout town while we were trying to find a place to park (before we got the parking permit). She was not nice or helpful at all!!! So, we finally found a one hour free space, and then finally moved into the permit parking lot. We left Monday morning at 9:20 only to find out that we got a parking ticket at 9:02AM !!! Since there was no one at the hotel, we went to the police station who sent us to city hall. There, low and behold was the parking woman...again! I had my husband drive around while I went in to dispute the ticket only to be informed that we couldn't park there on Monday from 9AM to 8PM because it was street cleaning day. So, 28 Euro later.... We did happen upon the only remaining winery inside the walled city,Padelletti, which we thououghly enjoyed touring and tasting. Lucia was a dear and spent a lot of time with us. Purchased a bottle of Brunello to take home with us. Did other tastings in town also. Great little village with magnificent views!

Great hotel if you drive

Location was great, parking in lot right by hotel, or a lot they suggest. No breakfast, but there are a couple of great places to grab a croissant and cappucino. They were so helpful and interesting people, great wine shop and tasting too. Room was quiet even though it is on a main tourist area, it is still quiet at night. Room is a bit dated, but very clean and comfortable. Would definitely stay here again.

Hjælpsomme engelsk talende ejere, som har enoteca i stueetegen. Der serveres IKKE morgenmad, men café ligger lige skråt overfor. Ingen minibar.

Sehr nettes Personal und die Lage ist optimal! Leider fehlte eine Klimaanlage. Da wird im August da waren, konnte man bei 30 Grad kaum schlafen.

Fint, men ingen air condition!!

Det var svært hyggelig folk som drev hotellet. Hotellet var romslig og lå bra til i byen, men hadde dessverre ingen air condition! Om kvelden var det nærmest umulig å sove pga heten.

dopo l' abbazia...il castello!!!

Abbiamo soggiornato al Barlanzone di Montalcino durante un tour di qualche giorno in moto tra Toscana e Umbria. Abbiamo prenotato all' ultimo momento e ci hanno riservato una stanza con vista sul castello ( proprio a pochi metri!!! ); la posizone quindi è favolosa. Il Barlanzone si trova all' inizio di una via da cui si può cominciare a visitare Montalcino; ci sono parcheggi per macchine ( a pagamento ) e per moto ( gratis ); la camera era pulita e il bagno molto ben rifinito. I comfort non sono all' ultimo grido ma cosa importa???....ogni volta che ti affacci vedi il castello!!! Perfetto per una notte in coppia!

Utmärkt boende och service i fantastisk miljö.

Underbar vistelse i Barla Suite. Det tog några minuter extra att gå dit men det var bara bra efter middagarna. Lägenheten var mycket fin, sängarna sköna och det fanns många genomtänkta detaljer i inredningen som gav en lyxig känsla! Atmosfären gjorde att vi kunde slappna av och till exempel ta ett glas vin på den lilla uteplatsen. Simone och hans bror gav oss mycket bra service som tips på restauranger, sevärdheter och viner. Riktigt bra boende med utsikt över borgen i badrumsfönstret. Vi hade det underbart!

Super emplacement et très propre

Durant nos 3 semaines en Italie nous tenions absolument à arrêter à Montalcino, capitale du grand vin de la Toscane, l'emplacement du Il Barlanzone semblait bien mais c'était de loin le meilleur duquel nous sommes restés! Simoné est très amical et serviable, bref ma femme et moi n'aurions pu demander mieux.

Fantastiskt läge, underbar och hjälpsam personal!

Perfekt lägenhet med utsikt över slottet och perfekt läge i byn. Toppen service och mysig vinbutik i hotellet. Rummet var i toppskick, rent och fräscht!

What a view!

Our window looked out on to the Fortessa. Great view! The hotel location is convenient to everything in town. Loved Montalcino!. The room was nice with a very nice bathroom. All of the hotels that we booked in Italy said that there were double beds, but the beds were bigger. At least a queen size. None of the beds in Italy were very comfortable, but we got used to that after a few days. The staff was friendly and helpful.
