"We were surprised how lovely this old hotel is, was expecting not that great but we had an excellent time and the hotel is lovely! The reception staff were very helpful and polite and check in/out was quick and simple! The guys behind the bar were both cheerful and chatted with us. Our family room consisted of 2 bedrooms, a double bed and twin beds. It was very warm and toasty. "We didn't stay at the hotel for a number of reasons. Firstly, the surrounding area was deprived with half the buildings either boarded up or in disrepair. Secondly, having a 'seaview' and being a 'boutique' hotel is debatable, but definitely not from the outward appearance of the property. It was scruffy and needed maintenance to the paintwork and front door. Thirdly, to be made to stand outside ringing a bell for 30 minutes is unacceptable and shows poor customer service.
