Great old lady in pretty good nick. Stayed 4 days, large room with small table and chairs, the room could have fit in a few extra comfortable chairs or sofa to relax in rather than sitting on the bed to read, chat etc. Some rooms had a balconette with more comfy chairs, but not our room.

The hotel presented well, however were hosting a function on the same night and the noise that was going through the hotel was so loud, at times the walls felt like they were vibrating. We needed to have the TV almost at the max volume to hear it. The music started at 3pm and didn't finish until 11pm. My husband had gone to complain just before this time and was told they could move us to another room (another guest was also complaining at the same time). Nobody wants to pack up and move rooms at 11pm! My issue is we had initially received a room upgrade from a queen to a quality queen, so why would you move someone closer to the noise. Ideally, it would have been good to inform your guests when checking in that you have a function and noise could be going until a certain time, giving us the opportunity to either put up with the noise or look for another hotel. If there was no function the hotel would have been ok but not being able to sleep after a very long day on the road and needing to leave early in the morning, was not a great experience. I would not recommend this hotel (when travelling to big cities like Hanoi or HCMC, we never experienced the level of noise in your room like this).

No mention of Stefano's restaurant anywhere in hotel nor in folder in the room - strange because that's why we booked. Its an old hotel due for another refurbishment and cleanup but overall very comfy bed and amenities.

Location

Noisy from traffic and pub close by. Stairs difficult for an older person or with knee/leg concerns. Beds too soft on the sides. Good location for shopping, river walks and eateries.

The grand hotel Mildura

First room allocated was a box and had to request a change , it was awful next room was better with a view of the car park and was pretty noisy because of the restaurants and nightclub , needs to be sound proofed , the car park you have to put your car is a public ticketed one that had huge potholes in it , lovely hotel to look at but some tweaking needed to make it a all round great experience , the buffet breakfast was excellent at coffee palace and staff really lovely too
