Stayed here during a busy concert weekend. The owner and staff working were welcoming and friendly. There is a bar on site, which is handy as there is not really much else in the immediate area except a small convenience store. Room was clean and comfortable. It's a bit of a distance from the city center but the train station is a 5 minute walk. Given it's further away I feel it provides a more inviting and local experience.
Brilliant stay, the staff and the owner were great very homey and warm atmosphere. Very kindly made me an early breakfast each day as I had to be up for a training course. Rooms were clean tidy and brilliantly sound proofed as I heard nothing from the bar downstairs. Great little place would highly recommend.

Liked: Staff & service
The staff, Michael and Andrew were very helpful and a credit to the Hotel. We had an early evening meal and were very satisfied with the food and service.
The hostess was very friendly and genuine. The room was nice and clean. We spent a pleasant hour in the bar. We booked at the last minute because of family illness and she was surprised to see us but everything got sorted out.
Enjoyed staying in this friendly hotel which had all the basic amenities. Simple continental breakfast included in the price and a basic evening meal menu offered. Not many amenities within walking distance but the train station and convenience store were less than a 10 minute walk away. Enjoyed our stay!
A great place to stay. Very friendly & kind. There were not many guests & it felt very welcoming & relaxed. The curry was excellent & I had a cooked breakfast after booking it the night before
Room was clean & warm. All the staff very caring & chatty. Lovely place
Though the Hotel is on Cardiff Road you can easily miss it parking is easy. The staff are very friendly, the rooms are modern and immaculate bar is small and very tidy. I had a big English breakfast. A great place to stay with a view of Aberfan
OMG I am amazed that this place wasn't better frequented when i stayed last night. The rooms are well furnished, clean and very comfortable. The bar area is nicely decorated and the food was delicious, it was curry night yum! The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Will definitely stay here again. I'm attaching a few pictures of my room.
Was staying away for work. Suited me just fine. Bed was comfortable so that was the main thing. Unfortunately had to leave to early to enjoy a cooked breakfast but there did have a continental breakfast setup which helped.
The room was better than it appeared on the internet. There is a living room where you can cook simple meals, it I think you’d need to take your own cutlery and pans. However the facilities are there if you should want it.
The food was good and reasonably priced, also there was plenty of it.
If you can park on the road outside do so, the car park is VERY tight.

Liked: Staff & service, amenities
Disliked: Property conditions & facilities
The staff made our stay awesome. They were all so helpful and accommodating. Made sure we had everything we needed.
Bathroom was just dirty with leftover hair from the previous guest (ew). Otherwise the room was quite cute. The sunflower patterns were adorable.

When you go into the property you get a small sense of relief as externally it needs a coat of paint and there are weeds that need removing. The car park at the rear is small and has a VERY sharp corner so larger vehicles or vans are better parking elsewhere. The inside is clean and fresh and upon entering the room first impressions were positive. There were parts of the room which needed attention - the shower tray and wall needed cleaning and the medicine cabinet had obviously had bottles in it at some point as the the rings from these were very visible. The shower gel/shampoo was a bar of soap balanced on top of the shower The tea and coffee facilities had lots of sugar stuffed in them but we're loose so the mugs needed cleaning prior to use and some of the hot chocolate etc were out of date. The TV isn't connected to an aerial or cable service so unless you have Netflix or Prime you're not gonna be watching anything.
The bed and pillows were very comfortable, you could see that the vacuum had been used and an effort made to tidy the room but unfortunately the little things let it down.
The breakfast was very much a help yourself to toast and cereal - there was nothing else available. Although nice bread had been used it was placed in a basket covered in cling film but it was still dry as the air from underneath the basket dried it out.
Overall for what we needed it was fine, a bit more attention to detail would make a difference
Do not go to this place its not a hotel its a ***t hole there is knowone there anywhere, we had to let ourselves in, ring a number and linda spoke to us over the phone and said help yourselves to a room the keys are on reception.the bedding was stained and unironed it felt like someone had already slept in the bed. It is the most disgusting place i have ever ever ever stayed it should not be on this site someone needs to go and reassess this place they say its 5 stars and room sevice and bar it is NOT. False information i should get my money back
Plenty of free offroad parking, staff really helpful and let us store our mountain bikes in their garage, room was clean and tidy, digital tv allowed us to sync our netflix.
Would stay again.
Fantastic night’s sleep in a very comfy bed. Pillows like clouds - and I’m fussy about my pillow!!! Very welcoming. Rooms on the small side but clean & very quiet despite overlooking the road and the bar downstairs, which was buzzing post rugby (despite Wales loosing!). Nicely decorated. Lovely atmosphere later on, karaoke which was fun to observe, and friendly staff & locals. Did not have breakfast as was having an early Sunday lunch with family nearby. Car park to the rear, access a bit tight but got our 4x4 in with a bit of manoeuvring. Only improvement I could suggest would be a good sized mirror in the room (only a small one above the bathroom sink) & a hairdryer. Didn’t bother us for a 1 night stay though. Would definitely stay again & thoroughly recommend.
We recently stayed here while attending a family funeral. The hotel was very easy found, very friendly and helpful staff even though it was quite late when we arrived.
The hotel was very clean and the beds very comfortable.
Could not praise enough as the staff so friendly and helpful at this difficult time for our family
