「I enjoyed my stay. My room was tiny, and so was the bathroom, but everything was clean and comfortable. Shower had great water pressure. I thought the staff went the extra mile to be helpful, and to provide upgraded soaps and shampoo, coffee and tea, and a breakfast bag with water, pastry and an apple. Plus, you can eat and drink downstairs at MacGregors. I signed up for a whisky tasting which was really fun! Whisky, music and stories. Made for an enjoyable evening.」

「The host was very kind. The room was clean but the furniture and bedding was very outdated. The bed had an older mattress and it was squeaky and lumpy. It could be a cute place if it was updated. The furniture was worn and old and not attractive. The room felt very sad to be in. The TV was from the 1980s and super small. 」

「It's a lovely and characteristic guesthouse. The owner pays a lot of attention to the details. We stayed in a standard room, but the rest of the rooms are full of charming. Highly recommended.」

「It’s a 100 year old property so expect to walk up stairs, it’s expected and they have done some renovations. The property smells moldy, the bed is horrible, super cheap pillows-they covered the bed in a plastic sheet which made you sweat all night and couldn’t keep windows open because of traffic. The WiFi is ridiculous and the fellow tried to convince us everyone uses an Ethernet cable versus wireless-so out of touch for phones/tablets and the room and bathroom were dusty and dirty in every...

「I very much appreciated the personal welcome, not just receiving access codes via a text. Janet, the manager, was very welcoming and exceptionally friendly. The room and the house were clean and had a warm flowery scent. I was lucky to have been given a room with a direct view to the sea. This made it even more pleasurable to sit in the armchair and drink my morning coffee and night drink. 「Poor standard overall. Lift broken - had to climb several flights of stairs which was difficult as I have arthritis. Room ok but needed some talc. Parking inadequate as 11 spaces and 41 rooms. Breakfast was very poor, little choice for those who do not eat fry ups. Asked for alternative- scrambled eggs, but not available apparently. Toilets in the public area were dirty . Definitely not a 4 star hotel」
