I travel once a month or so to visit family in the Rio Grande Valley, and I will be staying at Casa de Palmas exclusively from now on. This historic hotel is absolutely beautiful and fully modernized and updated. The courtyards and pool area are beautifully landscaped and well-maintained. I had a room on the second floor with a balcony overlooking the pool courtyard. It was peaceful and idyllic. Also, I appreciate that there is a parking garage - it gets pretty hot in the RGV, and my car was in the shade the entire time. I WILL be back! LOVE IT!

This hotel was lovely. Southern charm and totally feels like vacation. The pool area with fountain was wonderful. The front patio with strung lights and comfortable seating was great for morning or evening cocktails and conversation. Loved our balcony overlooking the pool area. This is a hotel that was built in 1919. It is very old and has been beautifully updated and care for. I really enjoyed my stay at this beautiful place near the downtown area of McAllen. The staff were all excellent and very helpful.

The staff here is fantastic! From the manager to Erik the bartender. Service is top notch. The property does need some updating or even maybe just some swapping out of carpeting. However it is so convenient to stay here and even with it's current state it's a beautiful property.

The pool was nice and situated in the center of the property with nice seating. The gym was very tiny, didnt use the equipment but did look in. The room I stayed in was spacious and clean, though the restroom was a bit small.
