"I know the building is very old but it is very tired, needs lots of maintenance & refurbishment inside & out. Our room/bathroom was dated, no handrail round bath therefore shower was terrible especially as my mobility isnt great! The staff were friendly, food was the best part of our visit. The grounds are lovely. I honestly dont know how so many elderly/disabled cope with the stairs etc. "

"We enjoyed our stay. Nice hotel, close to the water with beautiful views. The pillows were not great however. It took me a while to get to sleep as they were flat, bumpy and too firm. But the room had everything else that we needed. I would stay again. "

"It was clean and the staff offered to help with any bags or see us to our room. We stayed one night on our way through town. This is an old building. It was exactly what we expected and needed. If you want a new hotel this is not it. You will be disappointed. However, it is quiet, worn but clean, cozy, and very convenient at a very reasonable price."

"Very nice B&B in a beautiful area. The host Nicole was very nice and helpful. The view out our window was stunning. Clean and comfortable. Town and restaurants a short drive away. Didn’t do the breakfast but it looked and smelled awesome. Wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again. "

"We couldn’t get into the property because it has been closed to the public for some time, Expedia obviously didn’t know about that because they kept sending us emails regarding our stay and when we turned up There after a late night ferry crossing we were stuck in the back of beyond and having tried to book other hotels in Dumfries with no joy we won’t be using Expedia again ever!!
