Perfect hotel situated within walking distance to Matsuyama Castle and many nearby restaurants. There is a Starbucks two blocks away, if you need a coffee fix. And the hotel is easily accessible from the train station by the trolley cars and the local bus depot is a block from the hotel.

Good modern business hotel at a decent price. Room was a decent size, bathroom was very nice with a bath and both overhead and hose shower. Well situated within walking distance to the castle and very close to the main shopping arcade and tram stop to the Onsen.

Overall a good stay at Daiwa Roynet Matsuyama. Location is fantastic, trams a short walk and so many food options nearby. Hotel room was a little tired looking and the bed was way too firm for my liking but otherwise clean and comfortable. Staff were excellent.

I really enjoyed my one night stay here. The check in staff were very helpful and we had a very pleasant twin room. You select the amenities you want for the room in the lobby- there’s no wastage. The walk to the local shopping street and cable car to the castle on the hill is easy. And there is a tram over the way which we used to get to the Dogo Onsen. The room was fastidiously clean (as most of Japan is) and quiet. Great choice in Matsuyama.

Staff went out of the way to resolve the issue of a cockroach in our room (they moved us to another room without hesitation). It’s well located, close to the castle and shopping, as well as being on a major boulevard with tram connections to Dogo Onsen and JR stations. Moderate Double Room on 8th floor. Reasonable size for a couple. Bed against the wall which was a little inconvenient. Small (too shallow) safe in drawer. Nice bathroom. 8th floor room at rear had a view of the wooded hill and a glimpse of a few castle buildings. Annex entirely non-smoking except for a smoking room on the 2nd floor. Excellent WiFi speed. Clean. 2 washer dryers: wash and dry 3kg load in 2 hours Y600. Staff were very helpful with a little English language skill. Great location on tram line, a short ride to Dogo Onsen, just at the north end of “downtown” Matsuyama, and just south of the castle (walking distance.)
