"Our stay at Hotel Alice started on a high note. Check-in was impressive. The staff were friendly, attentive, and welcoming. The location is another big plus; only about 100 yards from the beach. Unfortunately, that’s where our smooth experience ended and our housekeeping saga began. After two days of beach time, some sand naturally built up in our room. Nothing dramatic. I stopped by the front desk and politely asked if housekeeping could do a quick sweep. They asked if we could be out for several hours to fit their schedule. Wanting to help, we adjusted our plans and stayed out all afternoon. Five hours later, we returned. No housekeeping. We saw housekeeping cleaning rooms in the hallway. "Perfect," we thought. We tossed our suits inside and headed back out, certain we were next.
Four hours later. Still no housekeeping.
Now, 48 hours later, I'm writing this while staring at a floor with enough sand to qualify as a beachfront extension. At this point Room 302 is the closest beach access in the hotel. Looking for seashells? Start here before the actual shoreline. We took every precaution. Shoes came off at the door. We tried to contain the invasion. But without housekeeping, sand achieved total dominance. We're one tide cycle away from being added to local beach maps.
That said, staff were wonderful at check-in, the location is fantastic, and we enjoyed our stay."
"The hotel was great in some areas and lacking in others.
Rooms were large, well appointed and clean, however housekeeping missed cleaning our room one day. The “urban view” was of the parking lot. I would recommend upgrading to the pool view.
The restaurant staff ( both wait staff and hostesses) were not trained in fine dining and not very accommodating to their guests requests .
Maybe a new restaurant manager is needed.
Overall, our stay was pleasant and we would return."

"Staff was great but the room had a permanent cigarette smoke smell. The room updates were purely cosmetic but not necessarily functional. The room looked clean on first appearance but the linens had those dryer marks on them and the toilet had a pee spot on the seat when we first arrived."
"My wife and I recently visited the Inlet Inn. The waterfront location is perfect, within very short walking distance to ferry boat rides, nice restaurants, shopping and historic homes and churches. The staff at the Inlet Inn was extremely friendly and helpful; check-in/out was a breeze. Our rooms (due to our late booking we had to change rooms) spectacular! Both rooms were very spacious. The first had a large balcony overlooking the water. The second had a large bay window overlooking the water with a reading nook. As far as the amenities, you won’t find the usual chain hotel perks (workout facility, pool, restaurant/bar) but we really enjoyed the Inlet Inns amenities. Continental breakfast delivered to our room each morning. Free self parking onsite- a really great benefit in this parking challenged town. A gorgeous courtyard with native plantings. And they have a spacious lounge overlooking the water. As far as attractions, we really enjoyed the ferry boat ride to Shackleford Banks island to see the wild horses and on the way back the Captain spotted a pod of dolphins feeding. At one point they were only 20 yards away! And don’t miss the Saturday morning Farmers Market (also walking distance from the hotel). One of the best we’ve been to. We highly recommend the Inlet Inn!"
"We had two rooms, checking in different dates. Could not check in until 4. Found bread still in the microwave from previous guests. The day before I arrived I called the front desk to discuss an issue and was left on hold for 29 minutes. I finally hung up and when I tried calling back they wouldn't answer, called 5 times in a row. It went to vm everything. They just didn't want to help with my issue. I had my other family who was already there check to see if front desk was that busy and it wasnt. The gals at front desk were polite and nice. Just don't try to check in even 30 minutes early."
"Gentleman at the desk was polite and friendly. The common areas, elevator, front lounge area, all spelled of marijuana smoke and dirty mop bucket water. Room was clean except for the mold growing in the shower that should have been easily cleaned. My wife borrowed bathroom spray from the front desk and cleaned it properly. Over all, this could be a nicer place for people to stay, but the upkeep leave something to be desired. Proximity to the beach was very convenient."
