Excellent Myanmar Hospitality
The front desk has excellent English skills and are willing to go the extra mile just to make your stay more comfortable. Service was prompt and staff were attentive to guests. They have a snack bar from 2-5pm daily and a free flow happy hour by the pool everyday from 5-7pm. Great place to chill with the family, honeymooners or just with a bunch of friends. Definitely worth its place on one of the best resorts in Myanmar. Well done!

Relaxing stay!
This was my first stop in Mandalay and I didn't know the streets and vibe would feel so hectic. Thank goodness this hotel was a calm safe haven. The staff was attentive and prompt and even helped me book a fair priced driver to Inle Lake. As it is a crazy time in this country, I am so thankful this hotel made me feel welcome and looked out for me. I highly recommend this hotel as a jumping off point to do your tours.

Nice, traditional basecamp for a visit to Mandalay
I enjoyed a very nice 3 night stay at this property while I was recently in Mandalay. It has a great deal of traditional character and the staff were very friendly and professional. It has a pool and gym which were nice when one needed to get out of the heat during midday, but it was walking distance to Mandalay Palace and Mandalay Hill which was really nice. Rooms are a bit small, but very comfortable. Great place to stay

Clean and comfortable place for two nights in Mandalay. Restaurant is good, like the flavored waters and the fresh passion fruit juice at breakfast. They try hard with the poolside drinks and tea hour. But because the pool made our skin itch we wouldn’t stay here again. We picked the place because it had a pool, very important to us. In Bagan before Mandalay the pool was great and after in Inle our pool was great. But this one was miserable to swim in because of the itchy water. We tried it twice and both times, itchy immediately. The level of service of the staff is top notch, whoever has trained them does an amazing job. They all are so on top of everything it was pretty amazing to see. They literally jump up to be attentive. May is especially outstanding. Our shower tub pooled water/stopped up, but luckily there was a second shower on our patio so we used that instead.

Really nice hotel, beautifully furnished and great, helpful staff. Small, decent gym, good WiFi, and good breakfast. Also free coffee or tea offered in the afternoon. I would definitely stay again.

The hotel is a lovely property and the staff were particularly helpful. There were 3 things that I found particularly disappointing. Firstly, the food and beverage services at the Spice Garden (breakfast and dinner) were very ordinary. The coffee and tea were awful, the breakfast very average quality. One evening meal I had the food equally poor, especially considering the USD prices charged. Along the same lines, the spa prices were western prices in USD - a 1 hour treatment charging USD50 (did not use so cannot comment on the quality, but this seems ridiculous in Myanmar). The other disappointment was the one window to the room faced on to a grungy building which meant no natural light at all to our room. If they could improve the F&B quality then I would probably give this place a 5 rating.

Hotel de charme
Hotel by the red canal is a very charming hotel, well situated near Mandalay palace. Although the room are a bit small and dark (but the other side room may be with more light), they are full of nice attention from the employees which is suite appreciable. The pool is nice and the restaurant also. Overall a very good stay !

Staff was always there to see to your comfort. The grounds on which this boutique hotel on are beautiful and make you feel as though you are in the middle of the quaint rainforests of Myanmar even though you are in the heart of Mandalay. Upon arrival washcloths and juice are the norm as well as cocktail hour by the pool upon your arrival back for the day. I will definitely be staying at this place when I come back to Mandalay.

The Little Touches Made it Great.
Loved the hotel, friendly staff, happy to do anything to make your stay the best. Great little pool and loungers, good gym with free water and towel, free cocktails, a choice of three, between 6.30-7.30 (drink as much as you can during that happy hour), breakfast a bit samey but good, restaurant Indian, not entirely happy with that as very limited international choices and I did not notice a single Indian customer! Only complaint is that there was no book in the rooms indicating their full range of facilities. I missed out on a workout in the Gym for two days because it is tucked away and I didn’t know it was there! Location wasn’t perfect being a little off the beaten track but otherwise a superb boutique hotel with many little extras to increase one’s comfort.

A Cozy Hideaway by the Red Canal
Service was exceptional, especially at the restaurant where we were always greeted with the infectious smile of Nan Win. The breakfast buffet is very nice and caters to both Asian and European tastes. The dinner menu is mostly traditional Indian food but there is a great variety. Whenever we returned from a day's outings we were met at the entrance and given an herbal tea and a cold towel for the face. The rooms and common areas are nice but, except for the bathrooms, there is insufficient lighting. The grounds are small but beautiful and the gardens are well manicured. Wi-Fi is spotty. Yet, the small size of the hotel and the great service make for intimacy and good memories. When we left, five staff members assembled at the exit to wave goodbye. Where else would you find this? I would definitely return.

Très bon hôtel dans un écrin de verdure. Peu de chambres donc à taille humaine. Les + : Personnel au petits soins Free tea Time l’après midi et Free cocktail en fin de journée Les -: les chambres Kachin sont sans aucune visibilité (fenêtre donnant immédiatement sur un mur) donc sombres L’hôtel est un peu excentré mais propose des vélos en location (6$/jour/pers : un peu cher)

Bucolique et agréable
Hôtel très bucolique et agréable. La piscine est petite et ne permet pas vraiment d'y nager. Nous avons apprécié le cocktail offert tous les soirs au bord de la piscine. Restaurant cher et moyen. Wifi correct. Sûrement le meilleur hôtel pour se reposer à Mandalay bien qu'isolé et très éloigné du centre ville.

Best small hotel by far.
Only had three days to spare in Myanmar and certainly made an excellent choice in hotel. Not too big and not too small. The staff were excellent they went out off their way to make our stay most enjoyable.

Zentral gelegen, aber relativ laut, schöner Garten, kleiner Pool, freundliches Personal. Das reservierte "Kachin" Zimmer war klein und sehr dunkel (ohne Aussenlicht).

Nous avions réservé une chambre avec douche extérieure et nous nous sommes retrouvés dans une grotte infectée de moustiques. La douche extérieure est complètement murée sauf à 10 cm du plafond qui est en fait l'étage supérieur, c'est donc un réduit sombre et humide en permanence d'où la présence de moustiques à toute heure. La chambre en elle même est minuscule, on peut à peine passer autour du lit, elle sent l'humidité et surtout elle est dans la pénombre continuelle du fait de la douche extérieure murée. On doit allumer en plein jour, c'est une aberration quand il y a grand soleil toute la journée. Salle d'eau propre et bien équipée. Restaurant moyen comme le buffet du petit déjeuner (pâtisseries qui ont séché depuis plusieurs jours, serviettes en papier minuscules) La piscine est un bassin, le jardin est très bien entretenu, le personnel charmant, peut être beaucoup trop nombreux parfois mais on ne peut pas leur en vouloir pour ça. Notre déception vient surtout de la chambre pour les raisons évoquées plus haut et des tarifs très chers de l'hôtel qui ne sont pas justifiés du tout
