「This is a very unique place to stay, the hosts are incredibly kind and friendly, they picked us up from the train station gave us a quick tour and gave us some very helpful advice. It’s a way from the crowds of Varenna, Bellagio and Menaggio, just a short distance to Varenna by train. It’s very tranquil clean and comfortable. It’s a beautiful area for a walk down to the beach, take the path straight to the centre of town. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and I would love to go back someday...

「Everything was great until it was time for us to check out an early morning. No staff was to be found. We called the number that we were given if we needed help no one answered. They lock the front door so you’re trapped in there. Unless you go out through the garden did I mention it was pouring rain and I had all my bags with me and had to wait for the car service outside in the rain other than that the place was great」

「Over-the-Moon Fabulous in Every Way! Palazzo Porta Picta was simply extraordinary—over-the-moon fabulous on every scale. From the moment we booked, the owner’s communication was perfectly timed, gracious and incredibly helpful. Her thoughtful recommendations helped us navigate Bergamo with ease and truly maximize our time there. She could not have been more considerate or welcoming. The Palazzo itself is spectacular—a wonderful marriage of old-world Italian luxury and modern whimsy. The...

All the staff were very friendly and welcoming. From providing information of where to go for the sights to enjoying a buffet breakfast in the morning, everyone took the time to make sure we were ok. The location was well placed to enjoy both Citta Alta as well as Citta Bassa. We'll have no hesitation in...

"Overall it is a good experience. Room is ok. The only issue is that there is no window at the lower floor - small window for the upper floor. Saying that, the sun light is good. In terms of room space, we have 2 15/13 year old kids and after the sofabed is spread out, there is limited space. Gym is great with everything while pool is also very nice. Overall service level is very good. We probably need a more sensible solution if we need to call a cab from the city."
