Quick overnight stay in Makassar

Had a very nice stay at the new Hyatt Place Makassar. The room was very nice. The breakfast Buffett was great….amazing selection and presentation of local and western food. The staff was friendly, helpful and professional.

Very new hotel. Room is very clean. Breakfast area is quite spacious. Most staffs especially those at restaurant and reception in the day are good. However, night shift staff at reception needs to be trained up. Encountered a leak at bathroom at night and waited quite long before I get to change room and this is upon my request. Staff actually proposed that it can be fix in 1.5 hours.

When we arrived the room was a brisk 20C. I set the thermostat at 24C, on "heat" mode. Nothing changed. Called the front desk, they sent up maintenance. After much fiddling with Google translate, he told me it was set correctly and "it just takes time". 12 hours latter, it was still 20C. When I sneezed in the room, it snowed! There was also a very strong chemical smell. If you have chemical sensitivities, I would avoid this hotel.

Hôtel qui n’est pas à la hauteur de ses étoiles

Le réceptionniste n’a pas répondu à mes demandes. Je souhaitais juste qu’il m’apporte quelques informations pour organiser la suite de mon voyage Une odeur très désagréable voir nauséabonde dans les sanitaires de notre chambre. Le petit déjeuner : moyen hormis les jus de fruits qui étaient excellents. Je n’ai pas ressenti d’amabilité du personnel (il a même fallu que je rende à la réceptionniste le crayon prêté ) les bagages laissés à la réception car arrivée en matinée n’avaient pas été montés dans la chambre. Je suis rentrée tard et j’ai dû le faire alors que nous étions très fatiguée. Bref premier hyatt ou le service n’était pas au rdv
