10/10 Excellent
"Our stay was amazing. Breakfast is a must have at the hotel. They have vegetarian and vegan options as well. Not so much in the dinner menu but the staff advised that they can prepare vegan food on request. Amenities provided were above par. Cleanliness level was good. Amazing views for the sunset. Pool was clean and well maintained.
Pro Tip:-
Some of the room types are available at ground and first floor. If you use third party sites to book your stay, it is a good idea to call them and say that you want a room at the first floor for better views. By default they assign a room at ground floor, so even if you have marine view room, it will be a restricted view. First floor rooms have balconies and better views. "
"Very clean and tidy, we stayed with a 10 year old and 4 week old, not very practical having the main bed inches away from the walls on both sides to have the bassinet next to the bed. Otherwise super clean, lovely modern amenities and easy check in and out process. "
"Check in was smooth, upon entering our room the sofa bed was not made up at all for our children. Even though the front desk informed me it was. We only had two towels aswell.
We booked and paid for 2 adults and 2 children. Front desk said they would send housekeeping. An hour and a half later we called again and were told housekeeping were aware. We went to dinner and upon our return bed was made up. For one child only. Sheets had black marks, hair and what appeared to be pink lipstick on them. Rang reception for a third time to inform them. 5 minutes later a knock on the door - the man handed me sheets to make the bed. I asked him to come in and have a look. He was surprised. We stripped the bed and re made it. He then had to go and source another pillow.
Upon bedtime my children complained that the bed was uncomfortable. I tried it and all you could feel were the springs. This is a 4 star hotel. This was definately not 4 star. We are staying in a motel tonight and the beds, cleanliness are far above what we experienced at Rydges Newcastle. I wouldn’t waste your money on the buffet breakfast either. We went down at 9am. No hash browns. No pancakes. I was informed they had no more maple syrup for the day. Went to get cereal and there was no milk. Very basic, very average and not what I would except from Rydges hotels. Wouldn’t waste my money next time. Better places to stay. "
"Architecturally beautiful place. And love the natural surroundings. But it is unacceptable that what is advertised as a premium wellness retreat, does not have a sauna or steam room.
Super disappointing. "
"Great location in a convenient area, with a spacious and comfortable room. The buffet breakfast was outstanding, offering an impressive variety of options. Free onsite parking was also a big plus, making the stay even more convenient."
"We had the one bedroom apartment which is absolutely huge. It has two outdoor seating areas on opposite sides of the unit. Access to your unit, the building, and the garage are all a single code to remember. The elevator is quick, though there are only 3 levels (garage, lobby, rooms). The one bedroom apartments are strange in that you have to enter the code at two different entry doors before heading up a staircase to reach your living space. The rewards of the living space more than offset the quirkiness of getting to it. "
