When I posted a first photo of the beguinage 2 weeks ago, there were hardly any flowers. Now, in the 2nd week of March, the ground is covered with a sea of daffodils. This little piece of world heritage was once the home of the beguines, emancipated lay-women who nevertheless led a pious and celibate life.
