"Overall, the stay was fine, but not great. We had two rooms, one for us + kids, the other for sister in law. No major issues with our room but sister in law's room toilet leaked - that's why overall 3 stars. Pros: Great location Nice, spacious rooms (notwithstanding leaky toilet) Price/value was reasonable Gym was nice, pool was great (kids loved it) Free parking Breakfast pretty good Staff helpful and polite Cons: Wife unimpressed by the cleanliness. I thought it was pretty clean. None of us slept well. I think because 1) they only had fairly thick blankets so you either had to blast the AC, or turn it quite low and basically not use the blankets, and 2) pillows were not comfortable. Booked for two adults, with breakfast for two adults. We had our three kids with us (10, 6, 4). We're used to places including the kids for free or half price. They based it on height, and only our 4 year old was free. I suppose that is relatively reasonable (just a different arbitrary rule that happened to work against our tall kids) but they wanted to charge $630 TWD per person for our two older kids, which in Taiwan would be insanity given how cheap and good and ubiquitous breakfast options are just outside the hotel."

"Have stayed at this hotel many times. Location is good. Lots of dining options. Even though it’s an old hotel, rooms have been renovate. It’s always my first choice when i’m on business trips to Tainan."

"This is a great place to stay in Tainan, two minutes walk to one historic sites and plenty of great street food near by! Hotel is clean and well decorated with classy interior design. Wonderful staffs and amenities. Breakfast is delicious too."

"While the staff were very friendly, some of the facilities definitely need improvement. For example, the sofas showed signs of wear, and the towels were thin and frayed from use. The elevator wait time was too long. I understand the room amenities are mandated by policy, but the lack of even a comb was really inconvenient. The staff in the children's play area and the restaurant staff were excellent, but because of the staggered entry, the food on the counter was quickly devoured by the large group of guests. Many dishes, like salad lettuce and fried eggs, took a long time to be replenished."
