Dilworth Inn was a very unique experience. It is a private, small, quiet hotel with all the amenities one would need. If you like the Texas history or learning about the history of a town, Gonzales is a wonderful place to visit, and the Dilworth is a great stop.

Overall, and especially for the town, this is a great place to stay! The staff was very friendly, attentive to requests and restocking amenities, etc. The hotel has been remodeled and is very nice. I love the high ceilings, fans and overhead lights in rooms, and style. Some of the improvements may have been done improperly (i.e. a handrail fell out of the wall when used and was only attached in sheetrock with a screw) but nothing that effected us greatly. I did miss the more modern amenities of an ice machine, coffee machine in rooms, etc (there was a home model ice maker & Keurig for the full floor) but for a weekend stay, it was fine.

My room was an interior room. Yes, think inside stateroom on a cruise ship ie, no windows. I noticed the hand towel that was hanging up was damp meaning it was used. I didn't report it since there was a dry one available. Could not get the TV to go on but since i arrived back to my room aftet 9:00pm, I didn't want to bother anyone. Bed was comfortable enough. Didn't use the shower so no comments on this.

Neat and tidy in downtown Gonzales, TX. Short walk to loads of history, museums and a public library with largest private gun collection in USA and a wonderful TX History section. I think the manager/owner is also the chef of the Italian restraunt next door. Great dishes at fair prices. I had lasagna. It was served perfect in its own plate, not a chunk from a premade cookie pan. Recommend!
