Lovely Stay!

We had a great stay at Hotel Firenze Lugano! The receptionist was so sweet and welcoming, which set a really nice tone for our visit. The location was perfect for us — we walked the Olive Trail to Gandria right from the hotel, and it was a beautiful and manageable distance. We also ate at the onsite restaurant and really enjoyed it — the food was lovely and the atmosphere was relaxed. While there’s no dedicated parking, we were able to find parking nearby without too much trouble. Overall, it was a very nice stay, and the view from the hotel made it even more special. Would happily stay here again!

Lucca and Lulu went over and beyond to make our stay extra special. Lucca offered to give us a ride to the airport at the last minute when we asked for help since we cannot book an Uber. We arrived at the train station just in time to catch our train to Malpensa airport. Excellent customer service.

The service was excellent and we had a superb evening meal. We could walk to the lake, and there is an efficient bus service from just around the corner into town (and station). The disadvantage was the main road itself, which was noisy if you have the window open.

Luca was really nice when I arrived and helped me giving the right instructions to navigate around the city. The hotel is located in a nice area, it’s clean and the bed was extremely comfortable. The only downside about this hotel is the breakfast: expensive, with little options, the cereal was old, no fresh food, fruits. Disappointed!

Evening staff less than helpful although morning staff was friendly and helpful. Bedding was old and of poor quality and questionably clean. Towels were more like rags. Location was quite a bit from the center of town but a bus stop was close. Hardly a view of the lake due to over-grown trees and shrubs. I definitely would NOT stay here again.

Não vale a pena!

O hotel parece um pouco abandonado, as instalações são antigas, não tem recepção o dia todo, chegamos a tarde e nao tinha ninguem para nos receber, tivemos que ligar e entrar sem ninguem no quarto. A roupa de cama é antiga e o quarto tb. Pagamos pelo café da manhã, mas mesmo assim, não foi muito bom, faltavam coisas na mesa, coisas simples como pão. Fomos bem atendidos pelo Lucca, que deixou nossas malas na recepção depois do check-out. Ele fica proximo ao ponto de onibus, o que facilita a ida ate os pontos turisticos de Lugano.

Dårligt!!!

Ualmindeligt nedslidt værelse, som også var beskidt. Håndklæder slidte og lugtede surt. Da der er ingen aircondition er, havde de sat en ventilator op, som var møgbeskidt. Det larmer også en del fra lastbiler, busser og motorcykler lige ude foran. Terrassen er fyldt med ukrudt og ikke engang fejet.

Vi hade inte en så positiv upplevelse av Hotel Firenze. Vi fick tillgång till rummet 1,5 timme senare än vad vi hade kommit överens om. Det fanns ingen AC så rummet var alldeles för varmt samt att kuddarna var väldigt obekväma.

On en a pour son argent mais attention…

Dans un quartier périphérique de Lugano (mais ça reste à moins de 20 minutes en bus, dont l’arrêt est à 100 m de l’hôtel). On a aimé : le prix (on va pas se mentir, 100.- en pleine saisie pour deux, c’est presque sans concurrence) ; la vue, avec le lac à 200 m (de petites ruelles y descendent) ; la terrasse ombragée aux fauteuils confortables ; le petit balcon de la chambre ; la cuisine (très bon tajine au poulet de la cheffe) ; le vin (excellent rioja…une fois refroidi) ; l’amabilité du personnel. On n’a pas aimé : l’exiguïté de la chambre, qui fait qu’on se cogne souvent au lit (supprimer un meuble inutile et moche aiderait. Je dis ça…) ; le bruit (on dirait pas mais il y a beaucoup de trafic sur la route en contrebas et en plein été y’a des motards qui se croient en compétition) ; l’absence de climatisation ET de ventilation. Conclusions : comme j’avais lu les commentaires, nous avions pris deux petits ventilateurs, des bouchons pour les oreilles et un bandeau de nuit, dormi la fenêtre grande ouverte et ça s’est très bien passé malgré la canicule (22 degrés minimum, encore 26 à minuit). Mais faut prévoir ! Vous voilà donc prévenus.
