"A tidy and well-maintained place, conveniently located in the heart of the city. We stayed in the family room, which was spacious and comfortable, making for a very pleasant visit. The breakfast was enjoyable, with a great selection of delicious pastries."

"A lovey 300 year old cottage. Beautiful rooms. Spotlessly clean. A full English breakfast sets you up for the day. Paula and Simon are wonderful hosts, very welcoming. We felt like we were visiting friends. Well located for getting around the area, Eden project and popular beaches and harbours a short distance away.

"Parking easy, reception area not great but checked in ok and shown to room. Room is fine but tired and kitchen too dark and poor quality fittings. Shower not high pressure but ok.
A good freshly cooked full English breakfast, and friendly owners. "

"Staff were friendly, room is very outdated and had a strange smell. Beds were average, shower was good. Breakfast in the morning wasn’t fantastic, we paid £120 for one night stay with breakfast but not sure it’s quite worth that to be honest. Wouldn’t stay here again."

"We had a lovely stay. The views were amazing especially from our bedroom. The food was lovely. Staff so friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble.
2 minor niggles. The diet coke was awful. Sorry to say as was locally produced but was definitely not to my taste or to many others and there was no other sugar free options only tonic which I personally don't like. Secondly the tv was in totally the wrong position. It couldn't be viewed from the bed on one side due to the position on the bed wall and also the hanging light fixtures were in the way. Luckily we didn't need the tv but we had lovely weather so weren't in our room much.
Would definitely return and recommend."
"Staff smoking weed in the hotel.
Hotel smells of weed and musky in different places.
Room not cleaned until requested and then not cleaned properly.
Broken window in room.
Overall, the hotel was disgusting!!!!!

"Arrived to a stone cold hot tub and was told it may not be warm until lunch time the following day. Also, the dog friendly lodge was not do friendly as we could not leave the dog on the decking without being on a lead as there was no fence to prevent them running away. "
"Every single member of staff that we encountered were friendly and welcoming, an absolute credit to the establishment. A beautiful hotel with plenty of charm & character, within a lovely garden setting. Our room was spacious, clean and well stocked with tea/coffee/hot chocolate/biscuits/toilet roll and the bed was super comfy. The three course lunch was delicious, filling & excellent value as was breakfast the next morning. Plenty of selection in the bar too. We would not hesitate to recommend this hotel, we thoroughly enjoyed our overnight stop and will definitely return in the future. "
