am writing to express my deep dissatisfaction with the check-in process I recently experienced at one of your partner hotels. Upon arrival, the hotel staff insisted on seeing the payment receipts I had made to Expedia before allowing me to check in. The receptionist stated that he could not proceed with the check-in until I provided proof of payment directly from Expedia.
I found this request to be highly inappropriate and unprofessional, as the hotel should have already received confirmation of the reservation and payment through Expedia’s system. Despite explaining this, the receptionist maintained that I needed to email my payment receipt to a specific address he provided. This created a stressful and unnecessary situation, especially considering that I was traveling internationally with limited internet access and had to struggle to retrieve the document.
The entire process was extremely uncomfortable and made the check-in experience unpleasant. Unfortunately, this is not the first time I’ve encountered similar issues when booking through Expedia—particularly concerning hotel verification and discrepancies between the rooms I pay for and the ones I am assigned upon arrival.
I strongly urge Expedia to take this matter seriously and address these recurring problems with your partner hotels to ensure that customers are not subjected to such frustrating experiences in the future.
