Situated on Long Ley, the Lime Tree Bay Beach Resort boasts clean rooms, many with an ocean view. The Bougainvillea Suite was roomy and has many recent updates (unfortunately though the website says it holds 6, I would stick to 4 travelers as there is only one bathroom in the suite. The view from the spacious balcony was unparalleled. The grounds were well-kept for the most part, with the exception of the kayak/paddle board entry point which could use a bit of love. I do think that the pictures and advertisements are a bit misleading as there is really no beach to speak of and a very small zero entry/beach point to enter the gulf. The dock is updated, and would be fantastic if you have a boat, jet skis, or the like. The pool on the gulf side is clean and has a few loungers available (I think it could use a few more). If you are looking for a place to hang out, relax by the pool, and have a few lazy days, this is your place! If you are seeking activities or days full of exciting things to do, this location would be a pass. We ended up driving quite a bit to keep our days full. In addition, although The Florida Boy restaurant is onsite and did have decent food, you have to drive 15-20 min in either direction for any other type of food. Overall, we did enjoy our stay at the resort and I would recommend it for a lowkey vacation.

While Expedia listed our room as “not in main building, canal view”, there was no indication on the map of the property that our room would be in a building across a road with vehicles traveling 55+mph. The staff was kind and the property nice, but we were disappointed to have to either watch for speeding vehicles or get in our car to drive and park the car in order to sit by the water. The main property was relaxing, but it felt stressful to know we couldn’t walk out of our room and get to the beach, on site restaurant, or amenities without crossing the busy main road, especially at night for dinner. With my two sons along, I didn’t feel comfortable sending them across to the main areas without accompanying them. The one bedroom was large and our outdoor balcony was very nice and spacious. It may have been on me to figure out that we had to cross the street to get to the water, but the map was definitely not clear upon booking.

Room was clean but room and furnishings were old, run down, and uncomfortable. Metal bed frame had rusted hardware, refrigerator didn’t work, tiny sink in bathroom had virtually no water pressure. Room was way too small for the price. Attractive view of coconut palms and Florida Bay from the room and nice sunset views. Overall needs a major remodel in my opinion. Air conditioning was noisy and because the room was so small, it was either too cold or off, which almost instantly made it too hot. Shower pressure was also too low. Hotel staff were friendly and caring. Ongoing construction of a new pool bar should have been disclosed before spending over $300/night. Not great but not a terrible experience, hence the 3-star review.

Nice quiet resort for a relaxing trip to the Keys. Staff was great, onsite restaurant with great food, store across the street, boat rental next door, and many onsite activities.

Overall loved the resort. The view was amazing and the property was very clean. People at front desk were very friendly. There was some construction so it did get noisy by the pool in the afternoon for a few hours but besides for that our stay was perfect.

Lime Tree was excellent in every aspect. Location in the Keys allowed day trips up and down the islands. Staff was very helpful and kind. Room was clean, quaint and totally sufficient. Bed was super comfy. Pool had areas for sun and shade plus a nice seat/edge in the pool. Sunsets were awesome. We would book again without a doubt.

The gulf was partially visible from room...walk just a few feet and 100% visible. we were on west side of property on the beach. Great restaurant on property, good food and live music. restaurant not part of hotel... breakfasts were something you would pay for - we never did breakfast there but did dinner there every night and evening cocktails. all fabulous. Staff so friendly and room so clean. Great amenities like bikes, paddle boards, kayaks, games. Lovely pool area and swimmable beach. Highly recommend.

Being in a protected bay on the Gulf side allow us to take advantage of the free Kayaks and swimming when the ocean side would have been two wavey. All staff members ranging from the people cleaning your room, maintaining the facilities or working the front desk was friendly and helpful. My only suggestion to anyone looking to stay here would be to understand where your room is going to be. This property offers a verity of different experiences depending on what building and room you may get.

The room was spacious and had a feather bed that was almost too soft. A/C was good, and we really liked having a ceiling fan too. Shower was huge! But not a shelf or place to put a bar of soap or hang a washcloth. The laminate floors were very dirty, which we didn't notice until after taking showers and then getting into bed, had to get soap & water and wash them bedside, after that we just kept sandals on while in the room. The pool at Dockside (off site building) was wonderful and the pool at the main building was zero depth entry and oceanside and provided gorgeous sunset views! The on site restaurant was good and we had appetizers; drinks and breakfast there. Sadly we didn't use the offered kayaks; bikes; and paddle boards as we didn't have enough time! Still excellent to have them available to use. Highly recommend.

Lime Tree Bay is split into two areas and we were away from the main site, which is only a 3 minute walk away. We would have preferred the main site, however our room was across the highway. The only nearby dining option is the bar adjacent to the main property, which served a good selection of food. Our room was very good, clean and located above a second swimming pool.
