「The hotel was quite beautiful and so were the views. They have a sky lounge to observe the sunset. The Scarlet Macau Conservation was a great hike- saw a sloth anpart from the macaus- and is complimentary. The place is overall dated but otherwise good.」

「Staff were very friendly, responsive and genuinely made you feel welcome. The hotel is beautiful and the grounds are a little bit of paradise. The beach is a short walk down a jungle path and it is also lovely to lie by the pool and watch sloths, Toucans and Red Macaws in the trees as well as have the monkeys come by for a more boisterous visit. This is a place to come and relax. 」

「The bed was too hard and pillows firm. I prefer a softer mattress and fluffy pillows. In our room, the AC unit required a key to operate that was attached to our room key so when you leave, the AC unit turns off. So you come out of the heat to a hot humid room. However, our friends room AC unit didn’t require a key so make sure to ask about that. Other than that, the rooms are very spacious and clean. Our balcony was amazing to sit in the morning and have a cup of coffee looking out at the ocean...

「Las Cascadas has amazing virws of the mountains behind it. We saw birds and monkeys and even deer during our stay. The marina is very conveniently located just down the hill. This hotel is on a mountain, so there are a lot of hills and stairs. If you don't mind a hike, this hotel is definitely for you. All the staff were friendly and willing to help however they could. If you have not rented a vehicle, i suggest contacting them to arrange transportation from the airport in Quepos 」
