The NYX Hotel in Holborn is a mixed bag, best suited for business travellers who prioritising location over luxury. Situated on a busy junction off Southampton Row, it offers convenience for those working nearby but lacks the quality expected of a four-star establishment. The decor is bold, featuring neon lights and rooms with black walls and panther eyes on the wall watching over you as you sleep. However, this style doesn’t carry through to the breakfast area, which feels bland and overlooks a grim building. While the staff are nice individuals, they seem to lack professional hospitality training and struggle to make guests feel truly welcome. Sleep Quality: The beds are firm and the pillow selection is poor, consisting of either very flimsy or rock-hard options. Noise: Street noise is a major issue. Even on the 8th floor, rooms facing the main road are loud. Booking a room at the back is essential for a quiet night. Room Features: On the plus side, the rooms are spacious and include an iron. On the downside, wardrobe space is limited, making it unsuitable for long stays. At £280 a night, I felt the hotel offers poor value. While it has facilities like a pool and rooftop bar, the overall experience lacks charm. For an extra £20 or £30, the nearby Hoxton Holborn is a much better alternative for a cosier and high-quality stay

In the end I didn't stay due to having to collect a friend from the airport but used the room for a few hours, it was comfortable and modern. The pool and steam room were lovely. The room type we booked (twin beds) wasn't available but it wasn't a big deal for a 1 night booking for me & my mum, however they should make sure twins are available or close the option on booking sites once all taken. The staff were nice but check in was painfully slow and disorganised. The price is high but it's central London and the facilities are decent, I would book again as I liked the design and pool

I stayed at Citadines Holborn-Covent Garden London the night before, which is only a few meters away from NYX Hotel London Holborn by Leonardo Hotels. Unfortunately Citadines had no rooms available for the following night, so I booked NYX instead. The difference in service between the two hotels was very noticeable. At Citadines, the staff made me feel genuinely welcome and went above and beyond to help. The hospitality there was excellent. At NYX, my experience was quite disappointing. When I arrived before check-in, I was advised to use the spa facilities while waiting. However, I was not informed that the spa showers currently have no water due to broken boiler, which meant there was no way to shower after using the pool. If this had been communicated clearly in advance, I would not have used the facilities at all. The interaction with one receptionist also left me feeling uncomfortable, as my concerns did not seem to be taken seriously. Another frustrating point was the breakfast pricing. When booking the room in advance, breakfast could have been added for £14, but at check-in I was told it would cost £24. As a staying guest rather than a walk-in customer, this price difference felt unreasonable. Overall, it was surprising to experience such a strong contrast in service between two hotels located so close to each other. Based on my experience, I would happily choose Citadines again when visiting London.

I paid £280 for the night. I’ve stayed here quite a bit as it’s very convenient to my office, but it’s not good value. The beds are not comfortable - quite firm and the pillows are shocking. You have two super flimsy pillows and two rock hard ones, whatever combo you have, it’s never comfortable. If you book here, make sure you get a room overlooking the back. The view is terrible, but at least it’s quiet. If you’re over looking Southampton Row - even on the 8th floor, you’re in for a noisy night. Room decor is somewhat interesting. All rooms have these weird panther eyes staring at you on black walls with some random black and white pictures in silver frames from the Range. The room does have an iron and ironing board, limited wardrobe space (so not for long stays) and the rooms are sizeable (redeeming factor). Summary If you are in London for business and need a moderately priced hotel then the NYX is an option, but an extra £20-£30 will get you the Hoxton Holborn, which has charm, cosy rooms and a great experience.

Very friendly never really drunk there I was going to the theatre very clean handrail was loose I did let them know. Free popcorn when you arrive whenever you want it a photo machine free I don’t think people realised it was actually there. I had a massive discount of the room. £220 from £280 if it was around the £150 Mark I will be booking his hotel for London lots has you got a swimming pole? Didn’t use it cause I had a cold. But if this hotel was a little bit cheaper I’ll think it will be a winner and look at other hotels in the area but overall excellent
