"This is a hidden gem. A car is essential as the hotel is in a very pretty but rural area with no other facilities. However the hotel is absolutely first class, the rooms are spacious, airy and well appointed. The hotel restaurant is brilliant with a great selection of local dishes and on Saturday and Sunday a quaint small bar at the front of the hotel where you can sit and watch the occasional cyclist or car go by. The owning family are so helpful and made us feel so welcome "

"Well what an absolute pleasure it was to stay here not only were we treated like friends I think myself and Alberto who with his wife own this beautiful house actually became just that friends. We were on our motorcycle tour of 6 weeks when I booked the nights stay here on our way from Lake Como to Ljubljana in Slovenia. "This property looks great from outside but it needs a full renovation badly. It felt like walking into a hotel in the early 90s. Carpets in the rooms are worn out and faded. Staff don’t show a lot of enthusiasm for what they do. Housekeeping was the worst. Upon arrival I noticed duvets were not very clean. A lot of hair on and in the duvet. I had to ask for them to be replaced. The shampoo and body wash container in the bathroom was empty throughout my stay. I travel with my own so didn’t need it but was waiting for housekeeping to noticed. I even tipped the cleaner one day hoping they’ll do a bit extra but no improvements. Although rooms were cleaned daily, staff did not change used glasses throughout the room even if they had wine from the day before. The casino, coffee shop, and location is all this property has going for it. "

"We ended up here because we couldn’t find a hotel anywhere else, but it was awesome. Great price and very “European”. We stayed in a senior suite with a living room and bathroom. Gorizia is a beautiful, small, Italian college town. We had a delicious dinner just across the street and truly enjoyed the 16th century bar in our hotel where the bartender told us a lot about the hotel history. "
