  • Nice place for family. Look around the museum of all the gems type they got. Go there early for the mine tour and nice beautiful cave in the back with waterfalls.

  • The Orchard at Altapass is the only orchard that I have been to. Each time I go to Crabtree falls I try to go to the orchard, but this is not always possible because the store is closed during the winter for offseason. I also have never actually gone apple picking, but instead go inside the store and buy the already picked apples. The majority of the times I have visited, there is live bluegrass music. Different kinds of preserved canned foods line many shelves in the store. Homemade fudge is sold, as well as ice cream. During the fall parking can be rough, since it is peak leaf and apple season. This picture captures the vastness of the Appalachian region in my eyes: the life present, the rich colors, and the visibility of the mountains far away. I can recall the sweet smells of the many trees producing apples. #appalachianechoes

It's wonderful to be back and they've been making some great improvements and the staff is so welcomnig and wonderful.... hands down my favorite biz trip stay location.... And the food was exceptional.... and the decorations for the holidays and the specials were perfect. looking forward to being back soon...

The view is beautiful, rooms clean and comfy. Enjoyed the patio bar and food service. Most of the shops were closed during our stay unfortunately. Computer problems due to a lightening strike but the staff did a great job accommodating guests.

What an amazing and magical place to spend a fun-filled Thanksgiving! The Inn was perfectly decorated for Christmas, the staff was incredibly attentive, and the meal was delicious! A particular shoutout to Stephanie! While driving back from a local tree farm, we ran over a tack on Thanksgiving Day. Upon mentioning this issue to her team, she told us to not call AAA and had a family member come to the Inn to repair the tire, what unbelievable service! We will absolutely return with our family, such a special place!

Be aware that at the moment blue ridge parkway is not quite open. You might have surprises getting to the hotel. But it is worth it.

Everything was good besides the service in the restaurant and in the shops waitresses didn't want to come around and ask if you needed anything and in the shops the workers wouldn't even talk to you just playing on their phones

The terrace was off limits both Friday and Saturday. The terrace overlooks the mountains. They had a wedding party that reserved the entire place. Definitely feel they should have told us and we would have picked a different weekend Food was marginal at the restaurant
