Such a beautiful property! The house is gorgeous, views are beyond stunning, bed was so comfy and the private balcony was unbeatable. John and Marsha are just lovely, and I can honestly say, they have one of the BEST breakfasts I have ever had at a B&B!! We will definitely be back!
We had a great stay at Lazy Bear Lodge. Not too big or too small. The rooms are lovely and very comfortable. Marsha and Dave were very accommodating even making us a special breakfast one morning to our preferences. Highly recommended.
Everything was perfect! Very clean, beautiful view, comfortable bed, delicious breakfast, beautiful decor and helpful suggestions on what to do and where to eat. There is nothing bad to say about this place. I hope to return.
John & Marsha are the perfect hosts of this beautiful B&B in the mountains. Breakfast was tasty and unique each day we were there. The room was on the second floor which require a fairly steep flight of stairs. It is central to the area; Blowing Rock, Boone,Banner Elk, etc.
We had a fantastic time during our short stay. I’m sorry we had to leave early due to a family emergency . We do plan on returning as soon as we can. Marsha, your breakfasts were great and the views were amazing. Thank you so much for your hospitality.
Very charming 5 room B&B outside of Boone, NC. Very traditional looking cabin but in tip top shape with lots of features and a great view. John and Marsha and their team make you feel comfortable and at home. Internet is great, a pleasant surprise in the woods. Delicious breakfast but the only nit is that I would like some fruit (not just juice) for breakfast. Add some berries, melons, bananas or apples. Will make a huge difference. We would definitely stay here again.
The furnishings and decor were second to none. The attention to every detail, no matter how small, was truly outstanding. The view from the rear deck was awesome. All in all a very relaxing stay.
Excellent B&B. This was our firt time at this B&B, all other quests were repeat customers, we will be also. We look forward to a return visit. Breakfast was excellent. Friendships made at breakfast table are priceless.
Absolutely going back! One of the best stays we have had in recent years. The owners were very welcoming and the location was simply incredible. It was truly a one of a kind experience. Thank you both for the hospitality!
I could not say enough about how much of a pleasure it was to stay here for a weekend. Only about 10 minutes from downtown Boone, it is tucked well enough away that you can truly enjoy the privacy if that's what you're after. My wife and I chose it as an anniversary getaway, and could not have been more pleased. The owners John and Marsha were a joy to talk with, and the rooms were immaculate and cozy. The lodge had an excellent combination of rustic cabin and modern style, and much of the furniture was new and comfortable. Views were spectacular from the common area, and the breakfasts were equally amazing. Marsha and her help know what they are doing in that kitchen. 10/10 will be staying here again

Couples paradise but not for family Business
Didn’t stay was there on family business and my search was put in as close to the college. This place was described as a couples retreat once I got there. Not close to college. Description was not accurate. Gentleman charged me the full price although we didn’t stay 1 night.
We had a wonderful stay at the Lazy Bear Lodge. The hosts are very friendly and accommodating. The Lodge was beautifully decorated, super clean, comfortable and had amazing views of the mountains. The breakfast was very good and the snacks and drinks were a welcome touch. Will definitely go back soon!
Attention was given to every detail including exceptional sheets, the best soaps and shampoo, and a refrigerator stocked with complimentary sodas, flavored waters, and beer, as well as snack foods and coffee and tea. The facility was immaculate and provided beautiful mountain views as well as a relaxing front garden.
Our only negative thoughts were regarding the breakfast. While the morning's menu was posted the day before, and the food both days was really good, it was a light meal and you weren't given options unless you said you had a restricted diet. I understand that with a fixed menu you can save on food costs and not have waste, but even a choice of cereal with milk or a couple eggs in addition to the delicious prepared menu would have provided inexpensive yet valued options.
John and Marsha were fantastic hosts that are very detail oriented and just kind people. They were very knowledgeable and helpful about things to do in the area and good places to dine. We would highly recommend the Lazy Bear and will be back! Adam & Jessica Keith - Mobile, AL
Marsha and John are awesome owners. They were so hospitable and nice. The food was amazing. Both have great knowledge of the surrounding area for things to do. I will definitely come back
A stay at the Lazy Bear never fails to offer peace, quiet and being surrounded by God’s beautiful creation regardless the time of year. The Lazy Bear is on our regular stay list.
