"The place was very clean, and the staff (Alvaro and his son were really warm and welcoming We had steak, sausage, rice and French Fries by a bonfire at night. We were in a clear bubble where we had a beautiful view at night of the forest and sky. Breakfast in the morning was fantastic too. But once again, the cleanliness was amazing. A white sink, toilet, etc in the middle of the jungle in pristine condition, wow. Just a great environment and a chance to actually relax because we were taken...

"Very charming town and wonderful people. Great place to spend some time lounging in the hammocks to the sounds of the village. Room was basic but had what you need. The meals offered are authentic and very filling. Electric/internet only a few hours a day so a great place to disconnect for a bit. "

"The property did not have electricity. And when I booked it that detail wasn’t in the description of the cabin , I had a very bad trip because of that , at least should say no WiFi no electricity, I took my kids and was very very horrible and disappointed ! "

"it is a holyday resort at the edge on the Amazon jungle. keeping in mind this, the resort is spectacular. within the resort there are clean wooden boardwalks and which goes then into silty jungle paths. there are good daytrips available. what you can't expect is hot water in the shower.
the 90minute transport from the airport to the resort is well organized and pretty picturesque.

"I didn’t stay at hotel. The hotel misrepresented their location. I chose the hotel because of its location in downtown Leticia; they are not located in downtown Leticia, they are located about 5 miles away from Leticia’s downtown. Anderson, the front desk employee, who also claimed to be the owner, wasn’t understanding about the situation and no help in resolving it either. Luckily, I have family in the country familiar with the city of Leticia, they put me in touch with a local travel agent...

"We stayed 7 days while visiting this amazing part of Colombia. The hotel is perfect - a very comfortable base to return to after a day on the river or in the rainforest. The rooms are large, clean, comfortable and well equipped, with air conditioning, ceiling fans, fridge, insect screens, a safe, a TV (but no news channels) WiFi, and a entrance area with hammock. The restaurant is excellent, and the staff are kind and friendly. Our reservation included half board, which was good considering the lack of places to eat in Leticia, other than street food and fairly basic cafes. The grounds are beautiful, with a great swimming pool. It’s a 5 minute walk to the Amazon boat transport hub, and a 15 minute walk to Brazil! (But take a tuktuk - cheap and quick). The hotel has an excursion desk which we used for all our trips - the organization and logistics were always perfect. "
"The room smelt like mold!! Staff was very unfriendly and unhelpful!! I was forced to leave after the fist night after breathing the MOLD and mildew! Fell sick after ....Terrible and worse place. I do NOT recommend this hotel find some where else !! I would have give zero stars if that was the option."
"Wonderful stay from the beginning. It’s hot there and when we checked in they offered us a nice camu-camu cocktail. My new favorite fruit. This hotel has AC and free breakfast, totally worth it. Will stay again!"
"We stayed at On Vacation Amazon near Leticia from 31 October to 3 November 2025. Unfortunately, our experience fell significantly short of expectations, and I would not recommend this property nor the affiliated SelvaTours operator to other travellers.
🏨 Hotel — On Vacation Amazon
What initially appeared to be a jungle escape quickly became an uncomfortable and frustrating stay.
Key issues encountered:
• Misleading package & food situation
Our booking ($341.87 AUD, double standard room, incl. breakfast and transfers) did not make it clear that you must purchase a full-meal package or pay inflated restaurant prices once onsite. The hotel is isolated — approximately one hour from Leticia’s port — with no alternative dining options. Once you arrive, you are effectively captive.
• Aggressive upselling & membership pitch
Upon arrival, guests are subjected to an hour-long sales session for a USD $5,300 hotel “membership”. It set an uncomfortable tone and felt highly inappropriate for a hospitality environment.
• Poor room infrastructure & comfort
• Air-conditioning only available 8pm–5:30am and only upon request, often with a 20-30 minute wait
• Bats in the room, including one flapping around while we tried to rest and others trapped in the walls
• Rooms constructed of thin timber planks with no sound insulation — early-rising guests and loud TVs/music from 4am made rest impossible
• Room odour likely from humidity and wildlife presence
• Cleanliness passable but certai"
