There was a plate of beans and chips on a chair in one of the ‘lounge areas’ from the night we checked in (could have been there longer!) until the morning we left, which obviously was beginning to smell awful! The room was fine, it was clean, but awfully musty and stuffy. The ‘balcony’ was laughable, it was a small metal platform (think scaffolding) which we couldn’t access anyway because of the window lock. They did supply us with a fan, which...

「Property was wonderful! Large kitchen /dining area ready family meal. If you want to cook there everything you need is there already to prepare meals. Large comfortable living area. Bed was comfortable and warm. Property right across from the beach and close to center of the town. We had a great visit!!」

「Two criticisms of the bathroom. The soap and shampoo bottles were unreachable when I was having a bath. Far too high, only useful for a shower or at the basin. Also the non slip patches in the bath were very uncomfortable to sit on. Did the designer of the bath ever try to take a bath??」

「Very nice property, great base for birdwatching as Minsmere RSPB reserve and Dunwich heath close by. Good facilities and having 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms for 3 of us was excellent. Couple of gripes, single bed mattress was too soft, and dini g table bit too big for the room, made moving around it a squeeze.」

「We only stayed for 1 night but we were so impressed with how comfy, clean and spacious the lodge was and also the location of the hotel such a beautiful setting with the castle very close by really picturesque. Hotel staff were brilliant very helpful and couldn’t do enough for you. The breakfast which was included in the price was delicious and the eggs Benedict were perfect with a nice runny yolk. We’ll definitely stay again as Orford is such a beautiful quaint place to visit.」
