We had a lovely stay at Kumala Pantai and can see why it always rates highly and is popular. We would definitely return again. The rooms are furnished beautifully and are kept spotlessly clean and have lovely balconies. Aircon is cool, Mini bar prices are cheap, and bathrooms are clean and modern. Pools are lovely and the gardens are amazing!! Lush and tropical and kept immaculate by staff. Location is second to none, can walk right through to the beach and close to shops and nightlife but far enough away that it doesnt disturb your sleep. Housekeeping staff are lovely and friendly. The only thing that I think slipped a fraction below standard if I had to nit-pick was the buffet breakfast. The food was good but the selection was minimal especially with a lack of pasties compared to other hotels, and the staff were slow with offering coffee in the morning - several times I had to wander around and find someone to ask for coffee. That being said though, the food at the restaurant in the evening was extremely good. If they fixed these minor points the hotel would be perfect! We met a lot of great people there who come back year after year and we understand why!

Kumala is my go to every time I come to Bali. Everything is beautiful staff, surroundings, pool however I do wish they would upgrade their sheets and towels. Some of them have seen better days.

Our deluxe room was in a great location, close to the beautiful very large pool, that provided both sun and shade whilst swimming which was very good..Housekeeping staff very efficient and friendly..A perfect beachside location with many fabulous restaurants within easy walking distance. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this lovely hotel with beautiful well maintained gardens.

Everything! Great rooms that were spotless. The staff always have a smile to greet you and help with any problem. The pool was wonderful, our room overlooked the pool area so we had close access. A plus is The Sands restaurant at the back of the hotel, facing the beach area. We had some rain on a few days so we didn’t leave the hotel to have dinner or lunch too. Shower water is so hot never an issue like other hotels we’ve stayed at in Bali. Only negative is the people smoking around the pool area, wry strong smell. We moved to other day beds. Also a couple in the room next to us also smokers and the smell came over the adjoining wall to as we sat in our balcony area. Overall a very pleasing hotel and I would recommend to couples.

The only negative about this is hotel is how hard it is to book into. People love it so much they are repeat clients and I cant blame them, its my favorite hotel in Legian. The location is great, opposite the beach. Its the gardens that are the winner, tropical plants in abundance that gives that old Bali feel. Everything at this place is top notch.

This hotel was immaculately curated. The gardens were beautiful and provided enough shade on the two huge pools where you could relax with a drink and/or take in the day with a book. The morning breakfast buffet was fresh and the coffee from the bar was up to my snobby standard!! I really can’t say how much the experience at Kumala Pantai was so relaxing, value for money and I’ll be back soon for sure.

Gardens are gorgeous and very well looked after. I do think that they need to be serious about the sign on reserving lounges around the pool and maybe get staff to walk around the pool areas asking if guests want food or drinks. Apart from that a very nice hotel with awesome staff.

Lovely hotel

The hotel and gardens are gorgeous. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, well furnished, and have a large balcony. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The two swimming pools are lovely but they are very very busy. Despite have over 100 sun loungers you had almost no chance of getting one in the morning after 9am as other guests got there very early and stayed there all day. Many loungers were “reserved” for hours with towels etc despite signs saying you were not allowed to do so. The breakfast is good but again a similar issue with the crowds in trying to get an outdoor table after 8am. The location is excellent. It is very easy to walk to markets, cafes, restaurants, and the beach is just across the road. We have stayed here several times in the past and it is a fabulous hotel but unfortunately it is too popular with Australian tourists who return to this hotel year after year. If you enjoy crowds then this is a great option, if you want something quieter look elsewhere or visit in the off season.
