Our stay at the Hollywood Hotel was underwhelming. The check-in process was quick, and the gentleman at the front desk was friendly enough, but he didn’t offer any helpful information or directions. Since we had never stayed here before, I had to ask questions that could have been easily addressed up front.
We were on the third floor, and as we walked down the hallway, we noticed large clumps of carpet lint—clearly, it hadn’t been vacuumed in quite a while. The condition of our room wasn’t much better. There was debris on the carpet and a scrunchie on the floor next to the bed, which gave the room a neglected appearance. To top it off, there was only one bath towel provided, even though the room was reserved for two guests.
Parking was another disappointment. There is a small paved lot and an overflow gravel lot, but the gravel area was full of ruts and overgrown grass—not what you'd expect from a casino hotel. When we got back to the hotel later in the evening, both lots were full, so we ended up having to park in the casino garage and walk over to our room. It wasn’t a huge deal, but it just added to our disappointment.
Overall, this hotel fell far short of expectations, especially for being part of a casino resort.
