"It has a spacious gym and a great outdoors swimming pool on rooftop, which is awesome if you like swimming. The view is great outside the window. However, the TV doesn't come with Netflix, and there's nothing I would like to watch on cable TV."

"Be forewarned this hotel is loud, our room was directly above the bar and the music didn't stop until 2am. Parking is hard, if the lot is full (the lot is tiny). We circled the block several times and ended up in a sketchy spot. This is definitely not an ideal hotel for families but it works as a dive motel and somewhere to lay your head down at the end of the night. "

The Stanyan Park Hotel is a perfect example, from the foyer, to the photographs on the walls tracing over a century of history, to the old-world style of the rooms. The staff at the front desk were always pleasant, on the way in or on the way out. It is right across the street from Golden Gate Park and a short walk to restaurants, and a good walk to the University of San Francisco - especially if you take a detour through The Panhandle."

"Wish the 3 ladies at the front desk made an effort to check which rooms are available for guests like me who needed to check in early. They were just chatting and kept telling us “guaranteed check in is at 4 pm”. That would have been greatly appreciated. Instead, the guys in the next shift started to check the rooms and got a few of us in by 3 pm. I came from afar and needed much rest. "
