I had a wonderful stay here! The location is perfect, right by a peaceful beach that made the whole experience incredibly relaxing. I stayed in the bungalows, which were amazing—spacious, comfortable, and not crowded at all. The atmosphere felt private and serene.
The staff were outstanding—friendly, attentive, and always ready to help. Their hospitality truly made the stay special. Overall, this is the ideal place if you’re looking for relaxation, great service, and a beautiful setting.
Place was beautiful and I really enjoyed the live music under the stats every night

Check-in was a near disaster; the hotel had no record of our booking and I had to repeatedly display my Hotels.com reservation. The issue took nearly an hour to resolve. When we finally got access to our room, we found it without bedding, towels or soap, a problem which took two calls to resolve. Things were much smoother after that first day.

The property was nice The house keeping was horrible.
Worst hotel I have ever stayed in, check in was a nightmare, going back and forth with front desk, getting my room locked a couple times because my card wouldn’t get through some system failure, yet other guest had no problem, the first room I stayed in was dirty and fill with mosquitos, the shower kept making a loud noise, second room was worst. Breakfast was a nightmare as well, they couldn’t find my reservation I paid for, JB or JP was not welcome towards us, very vocal with everyone eles, I honestly don’t recommend this place.
The property and rooms are very nice. Very lush and beautiful landscaping and easy walk to the beach. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The issues that we had is that the air conditioner in the room was either not working properly, or undersized for the room. We had it set at 68 and it was hot in the room. We tried to turn it down to 66 and eventually 64, and I have a temp meter and the room was reading 80 degrees at night. It was very uncomfortable to sleep. We couldn't open the windows because all of the screen were either not there, or bent and it let in mosquitos. That was the biggest hang up to making this trip 5 stars.
**ONE OF THE WORST HOTEL MANAGEMENT EXPERIENCES WE'VE HAD**
We gave Royal Lahaina every opportunity to address our experience privately and even escalated it to their management company, with no response.
We stayed for a week in June 2026 with two rooms. Three days before check-in, the hotel couldn't locate our confirmed reservation. After more than TWO HOURS on the phone, manager Gretchen told me they couldn't accommodate our requests, suggested we "book a better hotel like the Montage or the Ritz," said she was canceling our reservations, and hung up. I had to repeatedly call back to ensure our family still had rooms. Management later told me Gretchen received disciplinary action.
We tried contacting Hotel Manager Yvette three times during our stay and left two voicemails. She never contacted us until two days after we left. A brief call with my wife was later characterized as accepting their "final resolution": a $75 beach-chair credit. Even after I emailed a detailed complaint, Yvette never personally responded.
The resort itself fell short: housekeeping every other day despite a $45/night resort fee; two beach chairs cost another $75/day and were collected at 5 PM sharp; rude beach staff; and large gaps around our renovated room door that let in light, noise and bugs.
After spending thousands on two rooms, fees, food and services, management's lack of ownership was the worst part.
Ironically, their original advice was best: **Next time, we'll stay somewhere better.

The windows in the suit do not have screens, and I talked to the hotel. They spent about 90 minutes in and out of the room and told me they cannot find the right size of screen for the windows. Also the carpet is very old and dirty and has a moldy and rotten smell, hurt my throat, and difficult to breath. Also all the window sills are very dirty. It is not in a livable condition. I talked to the front counter manager, and he finally go me a room on the last night. This room is a little better, it has window screen. However the room is still dirty: all the window sills are dirty and the shower room wall. For both rooms, I have to ask the hotel to come in to clean the window sills.

Not a bad place for a 2-3 day stay! However, front desk staff could’ve been better in providing the only thing that they’re for — the service with a smile; the gentleman who checked us in absolutely had not patience in listening to his guests at all - let alone greeting guests with a SMILE!

Not a great check-in experience, room had pulled up carpet and broken lamp (upgraded bungalow room) and was not worth the price we paid. Restaurants and Luau on-site were overpriced and underwhelming. The only upside was the manager Gretchen that helped us to move to a different room (lower priced), but better view. We didn't get any money back, but Gretchen was very nice and helped us out.
